Hi K. ~
I used stick on borders for my kid's rooms because I wanted to be able to easily change it as they grew older. I didn't have a problem with it falling off.
I would say, just make sure the wall is clean and dry when you put it up. If you still have the problem, try using rubber cement (available at Michael's or Ben Franklin's). You put a thin layer on the back of the pattern, then a thin layer on the wall (try to keep it somewhat within the space of the pattern). After it dries on both surfaces, you stick the pattern to the wall. If there is any glue left around the edges, just rub it off the wall. When you want to remove it, just gently pull it off the wall and rub off any leftover glue. Good luck!

If your walls are textured you will need to sand the wall behind where you are going to put the border up or no matter what you do it will not stay or look right. Here's a good reference site: http://www.usawallpaper.com/howtohansela.html

If you want to be able to remove the border later, try tacking it up with poster putty. Otherwise, the first poster is correct, wallpaper paste is the way to go! You can remove a border that has been pasted, but it is ALOT more work.

Wallpaper paste should keep it on. You can get it at any hardware store.

Any kind of wallpaper glue/paste should do the trick. You can get it anywhere from Walmart to Home Depot/Lowes! Good luck! It will be more permanent though! (I THINK you can get it at walmart)...haha!

I have been there! I found that a spray on glue to put it up, then use a polyurethane spray over it keeps it up. I must warn that I did an aquarium theme in my daughter's room and used this technique. I cut the fish out of the border and put them all over the walls. We sprayed the polyurethane only on the fish instead of the entire wall. It was adorable but the polyurethane gave the paint around the fish a yellowish tint. I hadn't noticed it until my daughter pointed out that the fish were peeing. I used water and a sponge to take them off with no problems. Good luck!
