My daughter loves to play with silly putty. Frequently her clothing ends up stained. I've tried everything I know to get it out. Any ideas, solutions? Thanks
so very much !

What can I do next?

I have good luck treating stains with mean green. I spray them right before I wash them or if it's a tougher stain I leave it sit for awhile first. I have also heard to get a lipstick or tough stain out of a carpet use hairspray. I have never tried it myself, so I do not know if it works. Also note if you have already washed the stained clothes and then threw them in the dryer afterwards your chances of getting the stain out are very slim, unfortunately!...good luck stain fighting!!! My daughter always seemed to find the non-removable stains!!...So I can definitely relate to your dilemma!

I cant help you with the stain situation. But why not designate a "silly putty shirt" or apron?? This way if its going to be "silly putty time" at home she can put on her special shirt or apron. This way it may be fun for her to "put on her uniform/work shirt" and this way you wont have to worry about getting those stains out! :)

Spray the stain with oxy clean that gets out about anything. If that doesn't work spray it with oxy clean and then rub a little dawn dish soap on it and let it soak for about thirty minutes before running the washer. Works great on my husbands work clothes, oil, grease, hydrolic fluid, etc.........

Hi T.,
You know I had the same situation recently except the silly putty had been dropped onto my carpet and had stayed there for like 2 years until I came across this great on-line store that has not caustic products and amazingly enough one of the cleaning products got the silly putty out of my carpet! I was so excited! and still am. Plus the products cost less and you only shop for your needs. If you would like more information please visit this website: www.livetotalwellness.com/R.
Hope that helps

Here's something I recently found out about that really works. Just last week I used it and it got out spaghetti sauce stains, watermelon stains, mud stains and dried blood. All of those clothes, besides the blood stains, had been treated for stains with Zout and Oxiclean and washed many, many times, but the stains still remained. Here's what finally worked:

1 part Dawn dishwashing liquid,
1 part ammonia
1 part water

Good luck!

I found that Oxyclean stain spray works awsome on all the stains that I have at home. I am not sure it works on silly putty stains. I buy it at walmart. Hope it helps.
