I absolutely love Albany Med! My nurse was wonderful and the rooms there are so big and you always get a private room. The great thing about Albany Med is that they have a great NICU. My daughter aspirated meconium (sp) during delivery and had to be rushed up to the NICU right away. If anything were to ever happen during delivery, they would have to transport your baby to Albany Med

I like Samaritan but..if you are asking just between AMC or St.Peters than I would say St.Peters that is where my sister had her Twins and was very Happy with the nurses there, I am not sure about Albany Med, My Friend had her son there with out complaints too so ...I know that is not much help but ,I Like Samaritan anyway...More Private rooms

I delivered my son at Albany Med 2 years ago. It was wonderful. The nurses were all very nice and came whenever you needed them. They put you right into the birthing room when you got there and I had a nurse by my side for the whole time I was in labor. It was a great experience and when I have another I will definatly go back!!

I don't know about Albany Med but I can tell you I did not like my experience with St. Peter's at all. I refuse to ever go back there. No one offered me any of the alternate birthing services they talked about on teh tour we took before hand. The tubs were all taken and I guess there were no birthing balls anywhere either. The nurses told me to be quiet while I was screaming during pushing which I thought was absurd & rude. Then I didn't get a private room and so my husband was not allowed to stay with me. Afterwards no one came in to tell me what to do - they just expected I would know even though I was a first time mom & they knew it. I didn't know I was supposed to wake him to feed him every 2 hours. I got a different nurse every few hours too. I ended up calling my insurance company and asking to be let out early because I really didn't want to stay there anymore.

Definitely Albany Med - I had as close to a home birth as you can get there a year ago. An excellent experience. All the friends that I have, that have given birth at St. Peter's have had horrible experiences.
I've heard Bellevue is good too. But Albany Med has the private, updated, rooms. The nurses were great. The lactation consultant was great. Everything was great. Go to the tour if you can, see the rooms, etc. I'm sure you'll be very happy there.
Plus as someone else mentioned, if anything ever were to go wrong, that's where they would send you and/or the baby anyway, so why not already be there?
