I am driving from TX to IN next week and Springfield is about 1/2 way. I will be traveling Interstate 44. I am looking for a hotel close to 44 in a good area. Is North Springfield an ok neighborhood???

What can I do next?

So What Happened?

I booked at a courtyard marriott. It had great reviews and was noted to be in a good area. Thanks for your help ladies!

We have stayed at the Doubletree in Springfield and it was VERY nice. It is our favorite, but can be expensive. Sometimes you can get a good deal.

We have also stayed at the Drury Inn, its been a while, but it was nice.

Most recently we stayed at the Holiday in Express. It was a good place to stay also.

Just something to think about when booking a room, especially if you are traveling without your husband. Try to get a hotel where the doors to the rooms are on the inside rather than open to outside. It's just an added safety feature. My mom and I have stayed in Springfield several times and we try to watch out for that!

Good Luck!

I don't know any hotels, but I just wanted to suggest (in case you haven't done this already) that when you ask your question you can indicate if the question is in regards to a specific area. You can put "Springfield, MO" in there and check the box for YES. You might want to try that if you don't get many responses here.

Good Luck!

I grew up in Springfield, but moved to dfw about 10 yrs ago. I lived in the south side and tend to think it is a little better. But I also agree the the post below. Look for a hotel w/rooms on the inside so someone does not come up behind you. I haven't been there but a couple of times since I left and I know things have changed. I would move my family there.

I would stay on the South side. It's a better area, but there's a Mariott on the north side that's nice & in a nice area. Look on trip advisor for reviews. It's really accurate & informative. I grew up there!
