Has anyone vacationed Puerto Rico? We are looking for a beach vacation in March. I would like to go somewhere that doesn't require a passport. FL is out because that is "home". Hawaii is out because that is too far. Puerto Rico--yay or nay? Other suggestions??

What can I do next?

I have never been, but I have friends who got out of the Military that were from there (two different couples) who could not wait to get back, and the photos they post on FB look lovely. I would love to go someday.

I think you need a passport for Puerto Rico. I could be wrong.
Flights will be very pricey that time of year.
It's a great place, though.

Hubby and I went on a luxury business trip there several years ago.
It's like Mexico, everything is very nice at the resort, but off property it felt very poor and tired, and dangerous at night.
I personally wouldn't go back, it's just not very special.

Sorry, I can't help with your direct question but I'd just like to add a quote from a US Government page so readers know the truth:

"...State Department Bureau of Consular Affairs official, there is no passport requirement for U.S. citizens for direct travel between the mainland United States and U.S. territories, including Puerto Rico and the U.S. Virgin Islands."

Have fun!!
