My daughter is 18 and has been asked to babysit a 6 month old for one week. She lives close to DeSoto, Tx. and they need her in Rowlett, Tx., 25 miles away, for a 40 hour week. How much should she charge for the week?

So What Happened?

She ended up not babysitting. The lady never got back to her.

I would say $10 per hour plus gas money. So maybe $500 for the week.

$8 an hour would be reasonable, plus mileage if she is driving every day

$8 plus mileage is reasonable but for the fact that this is a six month old baby and it will be needing a lot more close attention, maybe $8.50 will be fine too...

Here in Austin the kids in High school are paid $10. per hour plus mileage or a couple of tanks of gas.
