Solutions for Decreasing Age Spots on Face

Over the last couple of years, I've developed a lot of more wrinkles and freckles/eye spots on my face. I usually go with a natural look, little to no makeup. I know this is a little vain and there isn't anything wrong with looking older, but it is still bothering me a little. I was wondering what solutions you ladies have. I was thinking about either buying some product or getting a chemical peel but that sounds a little scary.
I do wear sunscreen on my face every day. But I have pretty fair skin. Thanks for your help.

I am an avid Clinique user and have been for many many years. They have the Repairwear Series that is wonderful, I use it daily. They also have a crème called Even Better which is a crème that helps fade age spots and freckles. You might ask at any Clinique counter for a sample.

Clinique is one product that is dermatologist recommended and they stand by their products as well.

You may benefit from a visit to your dermatologist because he/she can give you a stronger strength crème for your face. It never hurts to have your skin checked out at the dermatologist, especially if you have fair skin.

I would beware of products you are not aware of and are simply products from direct sales/MLM's because you don't know the facts about those and you will not get a straight answer about them from the seller.

Ask your dermatologist for recommendations so you are not swept up in some scam that is too good to be true.

clinique has a repairwear serum. At almost every clinique counter right now they will give you a 2 week supply for free. If you return after 2 weeks for a consult they will give you another 2 week supply. Check with your local counter for more details. I really love this stuff it makes my skin so nice!

I saw them use lemon juice on "The Doctors" last week. I can't tell you if it works or not though.

I have heard some good things from the Clinique Age/Dark spot remover.

My dermatologist said that she could do a laser treatment, it would take about 3, at $85 each, and it would come back, but not for a while. I can't remember how long though.

I haven't tried any of these, but I have been contemplating it.....

Good luck, and if one of them work, let us know please.

Retin A is the best thing you can use. Start with that.

There are some amazing laser peels (and chemical peels) that will eliminate or minimize fairly deep wrinkles. My mother had a laser peel done to the deep lines above her lip a few years ago and they are almost entirely gone. She's in her late 70's. It's pretty invasive though, and you're like raw hamburger for a while.

The peel suggested below, at 3 X $85, will improve skin but is not deep enough to remove wrinkles.

I think the only thing with real and visible results, not just decreasing the "appearance" is something that exfoliates deeply.

This might include dermabrasion or proven cream like Retin A which needs a prescription. I have used retin-a...it's a bit pricey and causes redness and peeling, but after your skin peels, it looks great.

I am very fair and wear little to no make up most days, and when I do it's all very natural looking.

I have age spots / liver spots and many more wrinkles than I'd like, but am also 53 yo.

In the interim, while you try a few products, one of my recent finds is the BB face cream by Garnier, I think. It has a light tint, does not feel heavy and covers a multitude of concerns, plus has vitamins for decreasing the appearance of those age spots.

I apply an eye cream, followed by this cream...but if you live in HI, than you should wear sunscreen daily.
