My son used to have an obsession with his belly button, he used to rub it raw. Weird, I know :)
Overalls didn't work for him because he was able to unbutton the side buttons and still get to his belly button. Onesies didn't help either,he'd reach right into the side of his onesie at the leg and stretch it until he was at the belly button. So, my last resort... I used to put his one piece footed pajamas on him, with the feet cut off, BACKWARD! Thats right, backward zip up jamas! Worked like a charm. He couldn't unzip them and couldn't get to the bellybutton. I'm thinking this should work the same for your daughter. Make sure y ou get the ones with the clasp/button at the top so she can't reach the zipper!!!

I saw a mom on Super Nanny that cut the feet off sleeper jammies then put them on her kids backwards? They couldn't reach the zipper...

She is too young to be potty trained, clearly. You can get 24 month onesies and use a onesie extender which is just a little piece of material with snaps on it that makes the onesie one size larger. I think you have to know your own daughter as to how to handle this. My son would be horrified if he touched poop.

I would do onesies, or even the full body suits (no digging in the legs, or if at home alot, do the blanket sleepers (cut the feet off if they get sweaty feet and just wear socks). If they can unzip it, put it on backwards. At 25 months, personally, I would be potty training (I am a FIRM believer in the 3 day method...many kids thru my home daycare have done it and many people I know have done it successfully). But also, at 25 months, they can learn to not do this. They are not a baby anylonger and here, in home childcare standards, are considered a preschooler. They are capable of knowing this is NOT OK to do. So restrict their options (with the onesies and blanket sleepers) until they outgrow the facination with it.

We call them "Poop-caso's" here...usually it results in painting with the poo. Gross.

I've heard of a ton of kids that do this... Every one of them girls. I'm SO glad mine has [was taught by her dad w/OCD] an issue with her hands being icky. She didn't like anything on her bottom either. I had it easy with her.

Anyhow... And not trying to be funny here, but at least she hasn't "poo painted" her room yet. You can get packs of 24mo onesies. And for the colder nights, footie pjs.

Kids are gross sometimes aren't they? All she knows is she produced it, it's warm and mushy and hey, why not? She porbably also kind of likes the dramatic reaction she gets from you. She's thinking, hey - if I do this mom will get all animated and it's kind of fun to see her that way! I would love to know what goes on in their brand new little brains!

I'd go with the overalls and onesies if she still fits in them. I'm sure it's a phase that she'll eventualy stop - you just have to prevent her from doing it now.

Before you buy more onesies see the attached link for extenders that will snap to the front and back of the onesie. Since my kids are tall they no longer fit into onesies longer before I was ready to give them up.

Everytime she does this, promptly stick her on the potty, and give her tons of praise... BE PERSISTANT! I know it's a pain, but get on it while you have this window of opportunity!

Either that, or revert to duct taping her diaper on so she can't get in there ;)

If your daughter is anything like mine were, onesies aren't going to stop her.

Encourage the potty! It is NOT too early!

Teach her how to wash her hands on her own, so at least you don't have to deal with that every time.

Yick! Yes--that is gross. Shirts that snap between the legs and maybe even overalls....

with my little girls I just made a yucky face and said shew nasty, cochina eww and shook my head a little. I did that any time they got thier hands dirty on purpose and it works wonders.

I would start/keep potty training her. She is not too young. She clearly knows that she has pooped, which is one of the signs that she's ready to train.
