Snow'ice Conditions?

Okay, we are in Lucas, and I am super unimpressed with the snow/ice today. Why were schools cancelled? How does it look in your neighborhood because we don't have much snow and maybe a little bit of ice on the road. I am thinking of taking my son to piano lessons in West Allen at 2:30. Am I crazy? Is it worse in other areas around here?

What can I do next?

There are many reports of people getting in wrecks, because they can't see the ice. I know it's very icy here. My husband said he could barely see it and hit many patches on his way to work. Fortunately, he only works 3 miles away.

Black ice. You can't see it.

The problem is the OTHER drivers out there even if you are cool with driving in this kind of road condition. They see ice or a bridge and Bam, hit the brakes. It's hard to judge where the roads are bad too. I'm in Rowlett and I've seen a few cars go by but for the most part it's quiet.
If you get out, be careful.

We live in West Allen and we just went out briefly.

Schools were cancelled for good reason. The roads have improved but this am there is no way I would allow my daughter to drive to school, get on a bus, or ride with someone else.

If you do go out, just beware, there are a lot of crazies out there who think nothing of the road conditions. We saw 1 car spin out on Bethany doing 360's all the way across 3 lanes of traffic. Thankfully, the traffic flow was not heavy and the idiot did not hit anyone.
