Vinegar works wonders but it would be hard to do so on the couch but I would recommend maybe a professional cleaning crew to come out and clean it. Then you could spray it down with some vinegar and pull it outside in the sun to dry. That is what I would do anyways.....The carpet is an easier solution just get you a carpet cleaner and put vinegar in the container to clean the carpets with. You might could even add some baking soda after the carpets are completely dried and vacuum.

If you can afford it, have the upholstered furniture and carpet professionally cleaned and then work to "maintain" the clean smell.

Can't really answer this question without knowing what the materials are, but I would suggest looking up "safe cleaning" for the materials and go from there.

It's tough to get rid of pet odor b/c their skin is so oily that it sticks to fabrics so go professional first and then clean it yourself regularly.

I have to ask - is it Urine or just rubbed off dog dirt/grease? I had rented 3 rooms of my house out last year and the people had a bunch of little dogs. After they moved out the smell was over whelming (from the carpet). I rented a carpet cleaner for 2 days and the dirt came out for the most part but the smell came right back. The only thing that worked is what I purchased at "Pet Smart". Urine is a protein and it needs to be broken down and disolved. Normal cleaners cannot do this. It was expensive but it worked. Also I recommend a book - "Talking Dirty With The Queen of Clean" it was her tips that helped me clean up those rooms more than the instructions on the bottle.

In the carpet section of grocery stores, target etc there's an Arm & Hammer baking soda product made specifically for pets (think called Pet Fresh) to clean and reduce odors. Sprinkle then vacuum. You can definitely use on floors, depending on the type of fabric you could probably use on your sofa too.

On carpet, pour vinegar on stain, sweep up with wet vac, pour baking soda on stain and rub in, let dry overnight, then sweep with vaccuum.
