Slippery Spot on Floor After Using Furniture Polish

Good morning, Mamas. :) TGIF, eh?

Yesterday, I cleaned my bureau in the hall w/Pledge like usual, and I guess some got on the floor. I usually never thought anything afterwards because there's never been a problem, but someone slipped last night. After he did, I went and cleaned the floor w/the all-purpose solution I make up for cleaning everything else, but it didn't work--the linoleum is as slippery as it was when he fell.

Does anyone have a suggestion for what I can use to get it off the floor? I am racking my brains and can't think of anything. I'm trying to avoid anyone getting seriously hurt.

Thanks in advance, and have a great day. :)

It smells pretty bad, but Gojo works great on removing greasy things. Your house might smell like at auto shop for a day or so, but you could always try it. Works great for us! I would read the back of the jar though, and test a small spot to make sure it won't ruin the floor. I don't think it will though. Good luck!

try baking soda. It will not scratch or damage the surface and is non-toxic.

hate to say it, but amonia will cut through the oil. It will strip pretty much anything off.

I have this beautiful wooden staircase. When we first moved into our house I did a foolish thing and used furniture polish to clean it because it is SO pretty all nice and shiny. For about 2 weeks EVERYONE was sliding down the stairs. Eventually it just wore off. So, I don't really have any advice for you. I just thought you'd get a chuckle out of my 3 kids, now called the 3 stooges, falling down the stairs!

Have you tried the old stand by soap and water? or maybe something like baking soda, it shouldn't be abrasive yet it might absorb the oil.

there's some kind of stuff you can get to strip wax off of floors. you might try that.

Maybe you can try some baking powder to absorb some of the oils in the spray! Good luck!
