SlimQuick Problems

Has anyone else had negative results with slimquick? I took the first pills for the 7 day program and it didn't do what the label suggested. I was tired, cranky, had no desire to get out of bed, and to top it all off I ended up bloated and extremely uncomfortable. If you have had these same symptoms and found something else to take, please let me know. I really need to lose this weight and exercise alone is not helping due to medical reasons. It's like I'm in a catch 22 here. I need to lose the weight to stop the medical problems, but the medical problems keep me from doing too much exercise. (medical problems : lack of cartilage under my knee caps, weak ligaments in both ankles and a burning sensation in my bottom of my feet if I stand too long) The doctor has already put me on pills that made me jittery, and I couldn't sit still or concentrate. That's not good since I'm an educator, and the effects for the pills would last for over 12 hrs.

If you have any suggestions, I am open to almost anything. I weigh more now than I did 9 months pregnant with both of my children. I'm not looking to be a size 7 again, I just would like to be able to lose enough weight that I'm not in pain anymore.

What can I do next?

So What Happened?

Things have gotten worse. I'm actually heavy enough to get gastric-bypass. I'm not going to though. I am looking into the lap-band. Most mornings I can barely walk, much less exercise. Luckily, my job is understanding and I'm able to go in a little late everyday, and leave a little early if I need too. I have cut back on what I eat, and have not lost a pound. I've actually gained 5lbs eating low fat food. I'm so stressed out with all of this. I'm almost to the point that I need a walker in the morning.

I did do swimming classes at one time. All of my fat turned into to muscle and I actually gained weight. Once I stopped taking the class, all of the muscle turned right back into fat. I went from a size 16 to a size 11, then right back to a 16 within two months of the class ending.

Thank you for all the advice. Now I just have to decide what to do from here.

Hi Lynda-

I'm new to this, but I joined Weight Watchers online just over a month ago and have already lost 20 lbs. I've been overweight my whole life and have tried a lot of different things and this is the first time that I feel like I can really do this for the long term. I have been unable to get an exercise schedule going for myself but changing my eating habits with the program has been enough so far to start the weight loss. Obviously, exercise is going to have to come into play soon but for me just using the online tracking tool to keep tabs on my food has helped a lot! Like I said, I'm doing the online program, not going to meetings and I love it!

Good luck with whatever you find,
K.

I don't know if it is in your budget, but if you can, try swimming. It is the best for those of us with bad joints (for me its the knee). I have found that walking is not too hard on me either, as long as the terrain is not hilly or rough. The YMCA has fairly low prices and your kids can workout there too.

Hi Lynda,

I tried Slim Quick drink mixes last February. I went this route b/c I cannot swallow pills. My problem with this Slim Quick product was it made me jittery. I would drink one in the morning as it said for breakfast, then one for lunch. I ate a yogurt for dinner or a salad. I had energy for the first week, then after that nothing. I did not drop a pound.

So I decided to go to the Natural Health Food store. I picked up some tea from there. I like it better b/c there are no harsh chemicals and I see and feel results!!!

Maybe you should try something like that. At least you know that you are not having harsh chemicals affecting your body.

I started the alli plan 1 month ago and I am down 10lbs. Its not an over nite fix but a change to a healthy lifestyle. It doesnt enter your blood stream so it wont make you gittery, it only works in your bowels to block 25% of the fat you eat. You dont have to starve yourself, just eat low fat. I have a lot of weight to loose too so I know what you are feeling. Also on their website they have message boards for support on anything and everything. Check it out!
