Same thing happened to me with my daughter! It was a slight line so I waited 5 days and took another test and it was a definite positive. Congratulations!
ok i told everyone how i had a negative pregnancy test but now i have a could be positive this afternoon.well the line is like super super light but i can still see it. so i pulled the other two i took this morning and yesterday and they both have the same line. so did i miss it.. or did i let it sit there too long. the test this afternoon i only let sit two minutes.. and the line was very faint but there.. so what do you all think.. should i tell my husband or what!! thank you ladies!

CONGRATULATIONS!!! I'm so happy for you!!!
I would go to my dr and request a blood test to be sure before I said anything.
I agree with everyone else who said to get the test that says Pregnant or Not pregnant. Even a generic should work fine (a lot of generics are made by the same companies that make the brand name products).
Alternatively, you could go to your regular OB/GYN. If you can't get a quick enough appointment there, you could always go to Planned Parenthood for a pregnancy test (though you will likely have to pay out of pocket for the test).
Their info is: http://www.plannedparenthood.org/centerDetails.asp?id=657
if it is still very early the line will be faint, because the test is having a hard time picking up the pregnancy hormone. i had the same thing happen. wait a few more days and take another test. if you are preggo, then the hormones increase and the test will be able to pick it up easier in a few days and the line will be darker. generally i think if you have 2 lines one fade out after a few days, not show up.
You are probably pregnant. When I got pregnant the first time, I took one of those "early" tests that you can take 4 days before you miss your period. It was negative. Four days later there was a very faint line. I asked my husband what he saw and he said 2 very faint lines. I told hkm that as long as there were 2 lines it meant I was pregnant. You might want to take another test in the morning (when you will get the strongest response). Congratulations and good luck!
yes, go get one that has the words, or have your Dr do a blood test, though, that would be even more expensive.
good luck
I would definitely get a blood test at the ob/gyn before saying anything....although mine didnt show up positive until 12 weeks....even on a blood test...
Good luck!
C. that is awesome!!! I'm so glad for you! Especially that it means you don't have to take my earlier advice! I agree with the last post to do another one in the morning. Your morning sample is always the strongest so if you got a faint line in the middle of the afternoon, you should get a stronger one in the morning. I don't think a line will appear even if you let it sit for days. I guess the question about telling your hubby depends on you. If it were me, I'd cave in. I'd be too excited to keep it in! I'll keep my fingers crossed for you!
that's how mine was for our youngest :) went to the doctor and a quick test confirmed it!! good luck!!
This may be a lil late, but try using first morning urine to test. Good luck and congrats if you already have your answer.

When I posted my response, I had a feeling that you were. CONGRATULATIONS!!
Hey C.,
When I first did the test, 5 days before I was to miss my period, it was negative. But, I KNEW I was pregnant. I did another test at 1 day before I was to miss my period, and the 2nd line was very faint, but it was there. Two days later, they did the urine and the blood test at the doctors office. The urine test then was 2 bright lines. I was told that if the conception is very early then the 2nd line will be faint, the longer you wait to test, the darker it will be. It was true in my case. The best of luck!!!
I have to agree with Holly, the ones with the words are much better, no guessing!
When I got pregnant w/my first son, I was supposed to start on a Thursday and didn't, so I took a pregnancy test, which came back negative; then Friday, another negative. Finally, Sunday I took *another* pregnancy test (with a very full bladder!) and an extremely faint line. So on Monday I took the 2nd of the two-pack pregnancy tests, and there was no line. I called a midwife and she suggested that I wait a couple of days and take the test again, so on Wednesday, I took yet another test, and this time it was a strong positive.
Another time I took a pregnancy test that was negative, but when I went back later (a few days), it had a faint line. The package warns that this could happen, which is why it says not to trust results after 10 minutes.
I'd say wait another day or two to take another test and get a conclusive result before you tell your husband. No point in messing with his mind--one way or the other--until you're sure.
The same thing happened to me when we were trying, and the best thing you can get is the test that actually says "Pregnant" or "Not Pregnant!" I didn't believe the result until I got one of those! I hope you get what you want -- good luck!!
I would spend the few more bucks and go buy one of the tests (even a generic brand) that says "pregnant" or "not pregnant" ... I hated those tests with just lines because of just what you're going through now! ;) Good luck ... and let us know!
