Well my husband and I are trying too. If you have a faint line then try again in like 2 days and it should get darker if you are pregnant. Good luck!
Hi everybody!
It's probably just my excitement, but when I stopped taking BC pills in February my body went haywire. I didn't get a period for 6 weeks, then had a strange one, and wasn't sure when to start calculating my next possible ovulation. So we tried anyways, and yesterday I took an hp test. It was an extremely faint line, indicating what would be a positive had it been darker, and I don't know what to think! I will test again in a few days, but was wondering if anyone else ever had this happen? I'm so excited I can hardly see straight! Anyone else out there get an extremely faint line that turned out to be a positive? And I can confirm this line existed, not just in my head, hubby saw it too!
Thanks!

I don't want to give false hope, but that is exactly what happened to me when I got pregnant with my little boy. I tried to call the hp test company at midnight. No one answered and I thought I would lose my mind. Good luck!
Congrats!! You're pregnant. Same as all the others..I had faint lines as well. It take the pregnancy hormone to make ANY line appear.
Buy a the new digital test..it'll say pregnant!
S., when I firsttook a pregnancy test to find out if I was pregnant with my son it was the same thing. The line was really faint, but it was definately positive. Of course you can't bee 100% sure until youtalk to your doctor...
Good luck, and I hope congradulations are in order.
Yes, this has happened to me... I tested and saw that faint faint line... I thought it was just my tired eyes. Then a week later, I tried again... POSITIVE!
Good Luck!!!
I had the same thing happen to me. 9 months later had a beautiful baby girl!! I was told that any line is a line. It doesn't matter how faint or how dark it is. I would make an appt with your dr.

Not to get your hopes up... but I DID! Mine was so faint & we had tried for almost 8 years... so I didn't believe it until I went to the doctor. Good luck!
Yes, I had the same thing happen, it was so faint I thought that it couldn't be real. But after going to my doctor they confirmed it!
Any line that shows up means that you are pregnant. With my first child the line was very faint also, so I took 4 different tests and all the line's were faint. Congratulations.
Positive is positive, unless you've had a miscarriage in the last 9 weeks . . .
when i first found out i was pregnant i also had a fain't line on my test...i took two or three of them and they all showed the same thing...but if you aren't really sure go to your dr or your local health department and they should run a test for free
I have always been told that a line is a line, regardless of how faint. But one other thing is that the test line should be the same color as the control line (pink or blue or whatever color your test uses) and not gray, which might indicate and evaporation line. And also as long as it showed up within the right time frame, I would say you are pregnant!! Congrats!!
A good web site to look at is peeonastick.com. They have pics of tests and all sorts of good info.
The first month of both of my pregnancies I had a "weird" period. Real light and brownish in color. I already knew I was pregnant when I had it so it freaked me out. I thought something was wrong but the docs office said it normal to have what looks like a period early in pregnancy. Congratulations!
When i was going to take my test I waited until the first morning sample since it is the strongest. I was very nervous the night before and was talking to a friend about it when she told me something I never knew... You can get false negitives but you can't get a false positive. Meaning if nothing shows up you could still be pregnant. But if you get a positive result you ARE pregnant. The only way these tests work is to pick up the hcg hormone produced only during pregnancy. The instances of getting a false positive are EXTREMELY rare and only occur with severe reproductive illness. I hope I'm not scareing you. I am just saying that if you saw anything on the test strip there is a 99.9% chance you are pregnant. Good luck and Congratulations!
I rely on the old addage, "A line is a line" wait a few days and try again
I'll be the first to say Congrats! I have 4 children and with the last 3 I was taking HP tests within days of "conception times" haha. I was picking up on the faint line with each of them within about 2 to 3 weeks and 3 kids later.. obviously they were truly positive results. Trust me, the tests now are very accurate and most likely you are pregnant. Remember though, until you are past your true "period" schedule it is still vulnerable and even into the next month after. Good luck~ OH, the best test is one that actually has a digital screen that reads "pregnant" "not pregnant". If the "not" shows up you can trust it, otherwise you can start digging out the maternity clothes soon.
Congratulations! You're so totally pregnant!
I had a faint line as well. I was like "is that it?" I tested about 6 times and 9 months later I had a beautiful baby girl! Just take another if you want to be sure!!!
With my 2nd daughter I seriously thought I was seeing things the line was SO light! Try again in a couple days! Good Luck and Congrats!! K.
Hi S., yep you are!!
I had this exact samthing when I found out I was pregnant with my 3rd child except I was in the Drs. office when I found out. I was 3 1/2 weeks along when I found out. I was in complete shock, I had been sick all kinds of infections and the week before they had taken one and it was no. I was so suprised. Congrats on the goods news :) W.
Same thing happened to me. We were trying to get pg and were tracking my cycles. I took the test and actually threw it away because I thought it was negative. The next morning, I took it out of the trash and saw the FAINTEST line ever. I mean, you really had to look to see the line. I also had my husband come look to confirm that he saw it too.
We had to wait it out. We had a lot of hp tests since we were trying, so we did one every few days and the line just kept getting darker and darker.
Hopefully your 'strange' period was a good sign. I had light spotting during implantation which I why I thought I was pg. I had a friend who didn't think she was pg because she thought she was having a period. By the time she confirmed the pg, she was 3 months along.
GOOD LUCK!!!! :)
This totally happened to me with my second child. Not only did my HP test show the VERY faint line, but when I went to the doctor the next day for the blood test (which was on a Friday) and then had to wait until Monday to get the results...they came back "inconclusive". Meaning the test didn't for sure say I was pregnant, the levels were elevated but not high enough to say for sure. Well, like I said that was a Monday and I didn't get the results until afternoon and that morning I took another HP test and the line was totally there. So when the nurse told me the blood work was inconclusive, I just laughed and said "well I have another test that looks pretty darn conclusive"!!! :)
It was a pretty fun day!
Just wanted to share my story with you. And wish you best of luck....I really hope that line means what we all believe it to! And I know everyone says wait a few days to test again, but I have no patience when it comes to HP test........I'm guilty of taking them everyday when we were trying! LOL
Thanks for sharing your excitement with all of us mommies. We love baby stories.
My 4 yr old daughter was an extremely faint line. *now my son was 6 false negatives lol*
Hi, I've always read that a line is a line, no matter how faint. I would take another test, maybe use another brand just to be sure. Good luck and congrats!
It's probably positive. Similar thing happened to me except that I was on The Shot and took antibiotics (We must have been the only couple in the country who didn't know). I took three tests like that! Sheesh. My friend, who was a nurse said that a faint line is still a line, I wasn't so certain... Anyway, a trip to the doctor made it all clear and our daughter was born about 8 months later. The difference is though that I was showing symptoms: peeing a lot, sharpened sense of smell. I was about a month along when I found out.
I definitely recommend going to the doctor to make sure but matching my experience? You're pregnant!
With my 1st, I took the test with 1st morning urine on the 1st possible day of my period. Waited the time required, no line, so sad, dropped in the trashcan. Then I went back and looked at it later and there was a faint line. I went to the doctor's office that afternoon, and they did a urine test that showed negative. The nurse told me that I absolutely positively could not be pregnant. That was on a Friday. On Monday I took another home test and it was DEFINITELY POSITIVE. I still laugh about that nurse.
CONGRATULATIONS!
Hi S.. I have infertility issues and in our world, we have a saying: A line is a line regardless of how light or dark it is.
I would say test again in a few days and if you get another positive, you're probably pregnant. (I'm sure you'll probably be testing every day.) Make sure you haven't taken any medication that would somehow give you a false positive.
Happened to me also, as well as a friend. I tested and decided that I wasn't pregnant, a week later tested again..boom!!! Definitely wait a few days and test again..
Yes, my pregnancy test line was VERY FAINT on my first. I also had weird spotting, which my OBGYN later told me was likely implantation bleeding--when the fertilized eggs implants itself into the uterus. Maybe that's what your weird period was??? I think CONGRATULATIONS are in order :)
Hi S.,
When I took my tests to see if I was pregnant with my son the lines were very faint on every test I took and I took 3. He is now 3 and we are expecting again in 2 weeks. I wish you the best!!!
I agree with everyone else...YOUR PREGNANT. Any line is a postive result, even a faint one. Been there done that...even called the 800 number on the box to check. It was barely visable, but guess what, she's now 8 1/2 months old and sleeping peacefully right next to me.
CONGRATULATIONS!
both of my pregnancies started with a faint line. if there's ANYTHING there, you're pg! it doesn't hurt to take another test in a couple of days to get that dark line, but you're very unlikely to get a false positive. false negatives are much more common.
congrats!!
missy
Congratulations! You are pregnant. The test do not give a false positive. I had a long talk with my doctor about it when I was pregnant. I received a false negitive up to the Friday before I gave birth. I have a two-year old child to prove I was pregnant. Any line is positive no matter how faint. Set up an appointment with your ob if you are concerned.
S.,
A line, even if faint, is a positive. Congrats on being a mom again.
C.
I took my HP test when I was 3 weeks pregers and it was very faint too, but it was a line and a line means a baby! Congrats!
