so im sitting here in bed on the computer when i hear my fiance loudly say "this is normal, its regular ok" and i look over and hes dead asleep. He almost always flails around or twitches in his sleep, but occasionally will talk in his sleep. Most of the time its unintelligable mumbling but someimtes he comes out with these clear full sentences and i think its hilarious! the funniest is when he thinks hes at work yelling at someone. The last time he did that he was yelling at some guy named paul for not using a level (he does construction) and then proceeded to start growling like a dog. Ive never done it myself, well that i know of anyway.... the only person i know who does this sometimes is my father.. theres been times where hes fallen asleep on the couch in our basement watching tv and i will go down there to get a bottle of water out of the other refridgerator and he will ask me for something. and then when i bring it to him he looks at me like im crazy. Last time it was "get me the oreos" so i did, I get back downstairs n im like here, heres your oreos and i put the package on top of his hand and he grabs them and squeezes them and he goes "yeah i know thats funny".. then i realized he was sleeping.. i shook his shoulder and woke him up and he was like why do i have oreos i dont even like oreos...
again when these things happen i think theyre hysterically funny
anyone else have anyy good stories??

momwithcamera- yeah thats happened a few times! - usually when its work related sleep-talking, but still funny!

My husband gets in trouble for waking my up by answering me when I talk in my sleep because he thinks I'm talking to him. I'm like, "why would I be asking you if I should try to take that guy's quickening?" or "why would I be asking you where you parked the Tardis?" :-)

These are sooo funny!!! I have had a couple of instances with sleep-talking. I was dating a guy who "came out" to me in his sleep. He was dreaming about a guy and said very clearly that he wanted to perform oral on him. I left him shortly thereafter, as I had been having suspicions before the sleep-talking. Turns out a few years later I ran into a girl he lived with after me and she asked me "Did you ever get the notion that Rusty was gay?" LOL!
My other instance was me doing the talking a couple of years ago. I was in the transportation industry for over 10 years and my job was very stressful. Apparently I was dreaming about work and my husband thought he could interrupt the dream by placing his hand on my you-know-what. He told me the next morning that when he did that I said "Yep, that's my hoo-hah but it's not going to get your freight there any faster." We still laugh about that to this day!

My husband talks in his sleep all the time. Sometimes I can have conversations with him but usually it's just one line or 2 that he says. The absolutely funniest one was the time he was just giggling in his sleep. The all of the sudden he says "they are clucking like chickens" and then he starts clucking like a chicken. Then he giggled again and went silent. I just died laughing. When I asked in the morning what he was dreaming about he didn't know. Thought I was crazy when I told him what he had done ! I still laugh about this.

My ex talked in his sleep and the first time I spent the night at his apartment (it was creepy) I woke up to him saying, "there's a deer standing behind you". I asked him what and he repeated three times so I slowly turned and looked to see nothing thankfully but it creeped me out.
The funniest though he was having a dream his leg was amputated and it freaked him out (it was actually asleep) and he jumped out of bed hopping and out the door of our apartment. He woke up a few seconds later in the hallway locked out.

Last week my hubby got into some trouble while sleeping. He usually goes to bed an hour or two earlier than I do because he's an early bird and I'm a night owl. So, when I came to bed he was fast asleep. He had kicked all the blankets off and was displaying a "boner". I kinda laughed to myself and got into bed. Well, when I got into bed he did this weird little giggle. I was teasing him so bad the next morning. 'Oh, who were you dreaming about last night?' 'Don't remember? Suuure..."

Everybody in my family talks in their sleep. It's pretty funny some times.

I talk in my sleep all the time. My college roommate used to have entire conversations with me and I wouldn't remember any of it because I was asleep! She would take to writing stuff down to tell me in the morning. Apparently one time I was getting so mad because I couldn't get the round peg in the square hole....so mad that I was hitting the nightstand trying to get it to work!

My son also talks in his sleep. I'll try to engage him in a conversation, but it usually doesn't work. He's kind of a one statement speaker. Lately he's been talking about Mario video games, so it won't be unusual to hear him talk about getting fire power, saving the princess, or fighting Bowser. At least he doesn't sit straight up with his eyes open while he is talking. He went through that phase and it would freak me out whenever I saw it!

In highschool I was in a competition choir, think Glee, but all women and classical music. The week leading to Nationals in DC my Mom would check in on me and find me sleeping yet perfectly singing my part for our numbers. Amusingly our Director said at the begining of the year that we were going to work on these numbers so much that we would be singing them in our sleep!

My 6yr old son talks in his sleep - young ones have interesting dreams things like "The clouds are PURPLE!" or "Flying makes monkeys sick" come out of his mouth it's great!

I heard my 9 year old say mommy in the middle of the night. A few minutes later when she called out Mommy again I got up to see what she needed. She was sleeping soundly and when I went to leave her room she said "and Merry Christmas to all and to all a good night". :).

Love the stories. Both my husband and daughter do it.

Shortly after we were married my husband had been asleep for a couple of hours when I came to bed. He sat straight up, grabbed my wrist and kept screaming at me to drop the knife. I kept trying to wake him up as his grip hurt and was getting tighter, but he wouldn't wake up. I finally had to slap him to get him to wake up. He didn't believe me and I had to show him my wrist.

My daughter talks and walks in her sleep. One night she walked into my room and said Mom I have a secret, I am a purple elephant who has a tail that wags. I was like what the hell? She said it again, and I just laughed and guided her back to bed. Every once in a while we hear her yelling out something in her sleep. Can't wait until she is a teenager.

Oh, boy.
I have talked in my sleep since I was a little kid.

My son does the same thing.

My Grandfather is the one who used to get such a kick out of me talking in my sleep. I spent summers with him when I was a child. He would always ask me the next morning who I thought I was talking to and of course, I didn't remember any of it.

I guess in my dreams, I tend to think everything is hilarious. I can wake the whole house up laughing my head off. Sometimes I remember what was so funny and sometimes I don't.

My daughter's father was very insecure about it. He'd say, "What were you doing? Looking at me naked under the blankets and laughing?"

Seriously?

I can have conversations with my son and he is out like a light.
I ribbed him about it. Not too badly of course, because I do the same thing.

However, he paid me back because I also snore.

He recorded me on his phone talking and snoring and took it to school for his friends to hear.

I wanted to strangle him.

But, it WAS me......no argument there.
His little friends found it quite funny.

He snores and talks in his sleep too, so I just told him to watch out or I'll have him on youtube.

I wasn't really mad, but "thanks for sharing, son".

I woke myself up talking just the other night about chili in the crockpot.
There was no chili in the crockpot, but I must have thought it sounded good.

Best wishes.

I'm another one who talks in my sleep and have had complete conversations dead asleep LOL When I was in 8th grade I came home from school one day and my older sister (by 10 1/2 months) was wearing a sweater of mine. I got really mad cause "you didn't ask me if you could wear that" ... she SWORE she did and that I said she could wear it. My mom got home and we were still arguing about it ... come to find out I'd sat up in bed eyes wide open, she asked if she could wear it ... not only did I say YES ... I suggested the shirt and accessories she wear with it ... DEAD ASLEEP. She did look really nice I must say.

I quit falling asleep in class in school when I was a sophomore because my dad asked me one morning "Who's Tim and why do you want him to kiss you?" LOL Tim was a senior who was in my world history class who I had a MASSIVE crush on ... HE had no clue I existed LOL The horror to have fallen asleep in class and blurt out "Kiss me Tim" (which is what my dad heard me say in my sleep) .... Oh HELL to the NO LOL

All 3 of my kids talk in their sleep occasionally :) Hubby just mumbles sometimes.

So funny! This made me laugh. My husband used to play football, so when he talks in his sleep it is always to a coach. Cracks us up.

Our daughter talks and also sleep-walks. She's very happy during the day, but cranky in her sleep- she must be suppressing the bad attitude! :-) The weirdest time was when I woke to her trying to disarm the security system, and got mad at me for not knowing 'the sign for water'.

My husband still teases me to this day about something I "sleep talked". He was pulling back the blankets about to get into bed and I said to him "watch out for the brownies". He answered me thinking I was awake by saying, "what?" and I repeated "watch out for the brownies". So (confused) he began to look under the covers and on the bed for brownies. So when he asked again "what brownies, where?" I answered by saying "It doesn't matter now! You've smushed them!". I was sound asleep and have no memory of this event, but he remembers it clearly and I have been teased about this countless times. LOL
to Abbie H. my husband is an engineer and when he does sleep has been known to speak code as well.

Quite a few years ago, I heard my son holler "Next!!!!" in his sleep.
Of course, when he woke up, and I asked him about his dream, he had no idea what the context was. So it's a mystery to this day :-)

My daughter quoted Admiral Ackbar - "It's a TRAP!!!" Of course, she hears her brother say that out of the blue even more often than she's seen Star Wars, lol.

In my family, we ALL talk in our sleep. Occasionally we will take a tape recorder and play it back the next day. Super funny to hear everyone's outbursts and jarbled talk. :) My kids are super animated when they talk and are literally working out problems in their head (math or something that was bothering them).

My husband mumbles and giggles in his sleep but my dd and I actually do the talking! I've been known (since I was young) to hold whole conversations while sound asleep. DD only blurts out random words and phrases, but I'm sure the day will come when we can actually interact with her! A few nights ago she was "yelling" at her daddy "that's mine daddy! give it back! I want it!" Woke us both out of a sound sleep! I probably do still talk in my sleep, but hubby is a very sound sleeper so, it just doen't usually wake him up. These are some good stories!

When I was in chorus in school I use to sing in my sleep.
My Mom would hear the singing but she could never make out what I would talk about.
My husband hears me talk in my sleep and he can have conversations with me that go on for 5 minutes.
One night he got up for a drink of water and I pointed to the window and told him 'The seals are coming'.
He says what seals?
And I told him 'They are following the wire'.
I'm a constant source of amusement for him!
