Hi K.,
My daughter often gets dry patches on her cheeks. We put a little Aquaphor ointment on her cheeks and chin before she goes to bed and it works great.
My son Justen has had a skin rash on one of his cheeks for some time. I tried everything, even Eutcherin lotion. This moring he woke with the rash now on both cheeks and his eyebrows. I dont know what else to try? It gets so dry at times. I apply Eutcherin lotion several times daily and at night before he goes to sleep. Anyone have any other ideas?

my 7 month old son has had the SAME thing..DR. said its just a dry patch..i put NOTHING but auquafor on it all day and before bed. went right away in a couple of days...it did come back though..i guess after it goes away i will try to put just a thin thin layer on his cheecks to keep it from coming back...i swear by aquafor...good luck.
Take him to a skin doctor. I have an appointment next week with my son, same thing he is 10 months and this rash on both side of his face won't go away.
hi K. my name is J. Gravina and i am a partner of the M.O.M team. We are a group that has partnered with a holesale company that only make products from tea tree oils. None of our products have harsh chemicals which can be causing the rashes . I have to tell you that all i keep hearing from other moms is how their kids had rashes (excema) and after switching to our products there childrens rashes and excema went away. I use the baby products on my own daughter who is 16 months and i love them. Our company is completely risk free and all products are 100% garanteed Please visit my site www.MomsMission.ORG . Have a great day...
Check with your pediatrician on the possibility of his having Fifth Disease. My son came home from his Dad's Easter weekend and had some face paint on so when his cheeks were red that night and the next day I assumed he had a reaction to the face paint and was not concerned. Monday when he went to school I got a call from the school nurse that he was complaining of itching and had a rash. We both thought allergy so I decided to take him to the pediatrician as he normally doesn't have strong or long reactions to anything. She took one look at the red cheeks and the rash that had started up lightly on his body and said Fifth Disease. Basically, he was no longer contagious once the rash broke out, and benadryl and Gold Bond spray helped with the itch. After a few days the itching finally stopped. (It would stop but then if he stressed over something it would start to get red and itch again over the following 2-3 days.) The only people it is dangerous to is pregnant women...so, if he has it and you are pregnant (or any of your friends or family or possibly his teacher) they would need to let their OB/GYN know right away. Good luck...
My son had red dry patches on his cheeks and eyebrowes and they would not go away so I got his ped to look at him and it turned out to be eczema. He told me to use regular, otc hydrocortizone cream and it went away.
It may be eczema caused by food allergies. Watch what he eats and try to take notice of when it is worst. You might want to consider taking him to a pediatric allergist.
Did you try changing your diet? It could be an allergy. My son has a dairy allergy that shows up as a rash.

try aquaphor. it works for my baby, as well as i read great reviews about it. try it and you'll be amazed! goodluck!
I suffered with a rash in a private area for months. The doctor had several options, nothing worked. I went to my local natural foods store and purchased sweet almond oil by the company "now". with in a week i was nearly healed and it was a very bad rash. 2 weeks it was totally gone. it only takes a few drops per application. it washes out of your clothes and leaves no stain, and your skin will absorb it. It also healed the rash so that there was no scaring. It does not block the poors and is edible, so if they lick thier lips or more, no worries about ingesting it. says right on the bottle can be used on salad. Great stuff. T.
it sounds like ezcemma spellings bad sorry. You prolly need to go see a doc. They have some pretty cool stuff out thier for babies that can help, and although it's dry, somtimes certain lotions, can make this skin eliment worse. Def. talk with your doc!

Hi ,Is he drinking water. And is eating any thing differnt lately. And does dry skin run in his family . If it continues check it might be mild eczmer. You could try some omega oil directly on his skin.
Sounds like eczema. At 16 weeks, it could also be roseola. It could also just be dry patches and he just may need a moisturizing lotion. Have you spoken with your pediatrician? Set up an appointment and confirm what's going on.
Hi K.,
AHH! Eucerin containts mineral oil which is a cheap petroluem(think gasoline) filler that is occulisive. this means nothing can penetrate in or out of your skin(largest orgain of your bosy) when you coat it. John Hokins did a study that found minerla oil to be the second leading cause of aging (sun was #1) and it's in SO many of our otc products. I would be more than happy to send you a free sample of Arbonne's baby line. Check out my site: www.theskinyourin.myarbonne.com for more info. You would be happy to know Arbonne has NO mineral oil like SOO many of the other products out there & is 100% pure, safe, & beneficial this means all our ingredients are botanically based from plants and actually penetrate the skin to work wonders! Arbonne's baby oil has been amazing for exema sufferes young & old - check out the website for before and after pictures!!
hope to hear from you soon,
:) A.

Have you taken him to the pediatrician? What do they say? Sometimes it can be a sign of a lactose intolerance. Does the baby drink a lot of milk? (most do, of course). He could be tested for the intolerance, then you would know for sure & make changes to his diet.
Good luck!
My daughter who is 10 had thoses rashes all the time. It looked like her skin was very dry. It actually ended up being exema. You should check with your doctor because special lotion will need to be prescribed. Her checks are fine now.
K.,
i went through the same thing with all three of my kids. I took them to the doctor and it turned out to be eczema which is usually caused by an allergy. My 10 month old has it now on her chin and we have tried playing with everything she eats and we are still not able to find out what is causing it. My pediatrician told me to use All Free & Clear laundry detergent and to make sure I use it on the whole household's clothes. the bay may be okay with the detergent on him clothes, but then he is being held and me may be reacting to the detergent on your clothing. I also use avenno baby wash on my kids and it helps. when the rash gets really bad I use Cortaid Ointment and it really helps. I would ask your doctor to see what he/she thinks could be causing it, but it does sound like eczema. good Luck!!!
My son had the same problem,we took him to the doctor and they said it was a form of ecxema, she told me to rub 1% hydrocortizone cream (thin layer)morning and evening it cleared up within a couple of days,It did come back a couple of times but was much more controllable with the cream.Just make sure not to use too much because the doctor told me that using too much for over a week or so may start to thin the skin. Good luck!
Ask your pediatrican if it can be Fifth Disease. It is going around. My son just had it.
My little boy had the same thing off and on for a long time... sometimes it was caused by contact with drool, other times for no apparent reason. Each time I would cleanse the skin with cool water and then put on a thin layer of Aquaphor (the thick stuff in the tub)... make sure it's thin because the skin needs to breathe. It always went away after 4 to 5 days or so.
Ask the doctor! Also is there any other problems, sickness, etc. If so discuss all the problems with your doctor. The rash may be a symptom of something else or just a product of birth and hormones. Also if you are breast feeding your hormones will affect the baby and could cause it. Once your hormones return to normal the rash may clear up on its own. You could also talk to your OB/GYN about it and see if they have any suggestions.
Dear K.,
My now 11 year old son started getting a very dry rash on his cheeks when he was 3 months old. It then progressed to the crooks of his arms and behind his knees. After trying way to many lotions I took him to an allergist who diagnosed it as eczema. When he was old enough for testing we found out he had food allergies and was allergic to all dairy, wheat and soy products. Even though I nursed him for his 1st full year, he seemed to be allergic to my diet. After nursing he was on a strictly rice diet until he was 5 yrs. old. That is when he outgrew his food allergies, and decided to bless me with seasonal allergies.
I hope this is helpful.

Have you tried Aquaphor?
Avocado oil. Or sweet almond oil. (cold pressed)
That lotion is full of wierd chemicals.
A trip to your pediatrician or a dermatologist might be helpful. My nephew was just diagnosed with eczema and was given a prescription cream from the dermatologist that needs to be applied 6 times a day. So if a prescription is being required that many times per day, the OTC stuff just might not be strong enough. Good Luck.
try aquaphor - it works wonders. You can get it at wal-mart - target - babies R us. It's like a vaseline lotion. Good luck
My son had eczema, which maybe what your son has as well. The doctor diagnosed it as baby eczema and he only had it until he was about a year old. The doctor prescribed something that had a steroid in it and I wasn't really comfortable with that but I used it anyway for a short time. In the end I found the best cream to use was Aquaphor. It is over the counter but usually found behind or near the pharmacy of any food store. Hope it helps. :)
My kids both has something similar. But my little one had it worse because of the teething and her hands always in her mouth and face constantly wet. I was using the Eutcherin and Aquafor like it was going out of style. I came across a company cause I was looking for safer products for my kids and I found an amazing cream called RENEW. It cleared the both girls up over night literally. It can only be purchased on line. I'm NOT TRYING TO SELL YOU ANYTHING I'm only responding to your post. Although I am partnered up with this company I don't want you to feel that I'm trying to sway you. I swear by it I use it all over their bodies I don't use baby lotions that are purchased from the stores anylonger, because of the bad things that are in them, same holds true with baby wash& shampoo. You also might want to look into an alergy. Do you think it might be an allergy? Eczema? This cream is phenominal for eczema as well and it's all NATURAL and not a steriod which I wouldn't use on my kids. Have you changed anything with his diet or laundry detergent?(sheets espcially) I wold love to get you more info should you be interested. You can e-mail me.
call you doctor & insist on having him seen.. it may be more than just dry skin. self diagnosis & applying eucerin may not be helping & may be making it worse.
Hi K.,
My granddaughter had the same thing happen to her try using baby Aveeno lotion and the baby wash. I use it on her and it disappeared. Also take him to the doctor and check it out.
C.
My son has that. His ped said it was eczema and to use Aquaphor. I had tried Johnson's baby lotion & Eucerin lotion, but the Aquaphor is clearing it up after only a few days.
Hi:
I am in Califon area too!
Anyway - I know some babies can be "rashy." However, did you ask the doctor? Maybe he could actually have an allergy?? Maybe the lotion could actually be iritating it more than helping? Just a thought - me & my family are sensitive to detergents and certain skin products so that is the first thing that comes to mind.
Hi K.-
What type of baby wash do you use on your baby? It might just be he's sensitive to the baby wash. The other problem could be the laundry detergent you are using. You should try using Aveeno baby wash and lotion. My son had the same problem. I switched from Johnson's baby products to Aveeno and that seemed to help.

K., My daughter gets a rash on both cheeks as well- and then her arms back and stomach - all is getting better- she has excema is what they said and the dry weather aggravates it. They gave her a prescription steroid cream and that really helped. Try washing him with cetaphyl - not soap and also switch to a no perfumes and dyes laundry soap-their cheeks get irritated by the laundry soap on their sheets- doing these things cured my daughter almost entirely. Good luck:)

Try something more pure for baby's skin like Vit E oil or calendula cream. The Eucerin may be causing more of a reaction. My oldest had bad eczema as a baby and the Aquafor worked well on him but I think pure Vit E oil is safest and purest.
Good luck
It could be baby rash... try applying Johnson's Soothing naturals if thats the case... dont try anything thats oily.. it will only make it worse.. the skin needs to breathe...
K. it sounds like your son may have eczema. My son has eczema and what works best for him is using Aquaphor. It is made by Eucerin and you can buy it at any supermarket or drug store. Hope this helps.
hi K...both of my sons had rashes at around 16 weeks old that lasted for a few weeks. it was baby acne with both of them. this is very common. do not use any lotions with fragrance on his skin. actually lotion will clog pores. i would go to your local health shop or whole foods & talk to them also about what you can use. don't wash with any soap either, as that is an irratant & babies that young only need water. this should go away on it's own. i'm not saying this is what it definately is...maybe it could be eczema also..so check it out with the pediatrition too. good luck!
Hi K.,
I can't remember if I e-mailed. We had our 7 month old tested for allergies and she is allergic to milk, soy and eggs. So we needed to use elecare formula. This maybe the reasdon for break out. It was for her. 100 times better now! She was allergic to the soy similac formula. Hope this helps. Alison
MOM,
stop using lotion on his skin it blocks the pores in little babies.
Also if its spreading its time to see a doctor,
