Hi, i am due with my second child in july. My daughter will be 3 then, and I'm thinking about stroller options. Has anyone used the sit and stand strollers? What do you think? I've read reviews and they all look pretty good.
I was about to buy one when my neighbor gave us hers. Sooooo happy she did, because I didn't WASTE the money on one! I thought it was VERY hard to manuver, bulky, and not easy to fold and store. Difficult to get through a store. I gave the stroller back after 2 weeks. Once the baby is ready to sit up in one, I would see if you can test one out from a friend or neighbor before you invest. So happy I was able to do that.
My son was three when my daughter was born, it was a life saver for me! It took a little getting used to maneuvering it, but other than that I have no complaints. My children are now 5 and 2, we still use it on occasion. It comes in handy at amusement parks and festivals!
I loved mine. My kids were 2 1/2 years apart, my eldest wanted to walk half the time then sit for a quick rest, it worked great. I could also put the baby on the front in the carseat too.

My boys are 2 and 4 and it works great for most places. We use it everywhere Disneyland, the park, fairs, etc. I can only think of one drawback, the front seat does not recline much so they can't lay down at all, they can only sit up front or in back or stand. Again, we use it all the time and it has been great.
I had one of those - don't remember the brand, but it also had a rear-facing seat for the older one to sit in. I will say that it was bulky and somewhat of a pain to fold and store and ultimately didn't really use it that much - I found it easier to try to arrange my errands at times when my husband could stay home with the kids ;-)
Although, for family outings it came in handy, of course.

I got a Joovy Ultralight because it was lighter and maneuvered easier (ball bearings in the wheels, I think). I love it! My son was 19m when my daughter was born, so he was under the recommended age but he did just great (and loved being able to choose whether he wanted to walk, sit, or stand). I'm not sure we'll get as much use out of it this summer since my 3yr old will be mostly walking, but we used it nearly everyday last summer.
I love my BabyTrends Sit and Stand. My oldest is 3 and LOVES to be able to stand and see what is going on. It is not the easiest to get around small areas but it is perfect for a walk to the park. It fits in our trunk much better than our old travel stroller did.
I have a sit and stand and agonized about buying one. I wish I would have gotten the one with the removable seat in the back. My son (2.5 yrs) still feels wobbly and uncomfortable on the bench and would prefer a seat back to lean into. He also doesn't like the standing part yet. I'm hoping this summer he will grow into it. The front seat isn't super comfortable either. My youngest is always sitting cockeyed in it and not really relaxed. It will get better as she gets bigger and fill the seat out more.

I had a graco Double stroller before I bought this. My kids seemed more comfortable in the graco, and it folded easier. But it was HEAVY!!! and I think the sit and stand will grow with us for the next few years. I hope it is the last stroller I buy.
But if your oldest is still young and likes to sit, I'd recommend the one with the removable seat in the back.

We got a Babytrend stroller that can be a sit n' stand or a double stroller. My kids are almost exactly 2 years apart, and I found that I've used the double stroller funtion way more. My oldest tends to not sit still enough for the sit n' stand function. (I'm hoping it might be better this summer, though.) If you're not sure, this stroller is a good way to go. It's only a little bigger than a regular big stroller (I want to say 7 inches longer, maybe?, and ours drives really well -- smoother than any of our smaller strollers.

My daughter was only 2 when my son was born so it's a little different, but I got the Phil and Ted's Sport Buggy with Doubles Kit and really loved it. My daughter was still young enough that she wanted to sit, and it was easier to keep her contained. There were plenty of times on vacation or out and about that she would fall asleep in there, so I was glad to have it. One of the only ways I could get exercise with two kids was walking, so it was ideal for that too, lightweight, easy to handle, comfortable for the kids (a few snacks or lollypops and I got at least 30 minutes to power walk). I guess it just depends on your daughter's personality.
I use one for my grandchildren, like it, but it doesn't fit in the trunk of my car so make sure your car is big enough. I have a Chevy Malibu.
My sister uses a sit and stand stroller for my niece and nephew. They hold a lot of stuff and my sister's has a pair of cupholders and a small storage compartment. It's very useful since Bella like to stand and get out to walk. However, it is heavy.
I have one. The pros: My oldest loved being able to stand on it. It holds a lot of stuff. There are several ways you can set it up. We get lots of compliments. The cons: It's heavy. It may be our particular model but it doesn't turn worth a darn. It's big, so going through crowds with it isn't always the easiest. All in all I like it.
