Siri doesn't cost any extra, it comes with the iPhone.

Added: It comes with the iPhone 4s which has many other new features besides Siri. You aren't paying $100 just for Siri.
Is it worth the extra money to get Siri on the new iPhone? Would love your feedback!
(iPhone 4 w/o Siri = $99/ iPhone 4s with Siri = $199)
Thanks for all the feedback and clarification re: what that extra $100 buys. I got the 4s today and so far, it's great! Siri has been no help at all, but I'm sure I'll figure that out in time. Thank you!

It's not just Siri that's different. The 4s also has a better camera and a faster CPU. Those 2 things alone are worth the extra $100 to me (hubby and I both have the 4s).
I have the 4s on my work phone and siri - although certainly not essential - is really helpful. I can say "Siri call mom" and next thing I know my mom's phone is ringing. or "Siri find a recipe for waffles". It's great for the typical multi-tasker and wonderful for hands free phones in the car. Siri will look up my schedule for a particular date, text my daughter that I'll be late picking her up, etc.
But bottom line is that it's not at all essential and I wouldn't have gone out of my way to spend the money for it. It's nice but it's not twice-the-price nice. ;o) (I'm a poet...)
Uhm, yeah, you're getting more than just Siri for that extra $100! Hubby & I both just upgraded from 3GS to 4S and we LOVE, LOVE, LOVE them!! Processing speed is super fast, the camera takes incredible pictures & video, and Siri is fun. I guess it's mostly just personal preference and how "hard" are you on the phone... are you prone to dropping, losing, etc? If so, I would be wary spending the extra money. But, if you're good at taking care of this tiny incredible machine, spend the money and ENJOY!
Siri always mis-understands me. It's a pain to use. It is like it picks up on background noise and misinterprets the question. One time it started calling someone ramdom in my contact list bc it thought I asked it to. The new iPhone has a better camera which I like.
I completely agree with Kathleen S. I have the 4S and almost never use Siri, as I find it not so useful. The better camera, processor and screen resolution are worth it, as is the extra storage you get on the 4S vs the 4.
For Siri, no. BUT for the better camera, processor and 4g, yes. IMHO
