Side Effects on Clomid

It has been years and 3 kids later since I used Clomid so I can't even remember any symptoms, I just wanted to say good luck! And Fertilityfriend.com is a free site for charting if you aren't using anything. Good luck!

Hi B., I'm not sure about Clomid, but thought I'd share some other info. These may be other factors you may want to consider as well. If you’ve been watching the news or been on-line lately, you may be aware that many reports have been released regarding fertility and diet. Research has been released promoting healthier diets, more exercise and weight management as key factors in ones ability to conceive. Everything suggests eating more fruits and veggies (as we all know to improve overall health in all regards anyway!) I’ve attached a Newsweek article that you may want to review. Also, my family eats a whole food fruits and veggies nutritional product called Juice Plus. It’s 17 fruits and vegetables in a capsule. I have heard several personal accounts of people who have had luck getting pregnant once taking Juice Plus. I can’t say for certain it would do that for you, but I do know that adding more fruits and vegetables with Juice Plus can improve health status overall. I had to use clomid for both of my live births. We only did two cycles the first time and I got wiggy! THe cramps and pain - weight, etc. But I was so happy when we did conceive that it was worth it.

I was looking at taking a third dose with my second son, and thank God that I didn't have to do it. If I had had to, I probably would not have continued trying. Emotionally and physically I was a wreck and difficult to be around at work and home. It was again worth it. I was very lucky to not have to take it more, but just maye one last time? Seems each cycle the symptoms increase alot. The # of multiples increases greatly with each cycle if you get pregnant, so be prepared for that.

I am currently 16 wks PG because of Clomid and an IUI. I did 5 rounds of clomid. Around the time I would Ovulate I always got the cramping and pain. From what I've read and spoken to others it's totally normal. I didn't have any side effects other then is while on Clomid. however, everyones bodies are different.

I found joining some message boards of others who are currently takingn Clomid helped me a lot. We all shared ideas, articles and what our doctors were telling us. It kept me sane and let me know what I was going through was a common thing and I was alone.

I don't really have any advice on clomid, although I would talk with your doc, it could be cysts. I have had 3 friends go through fertility treatments and what I told the 3rd one after advice from the first two is skip the clomid and go to the injectable FSH. It works better. They start with clomid bc it is cheaper and you don't have to inject it, but the injectable works way better from what I have seen with my friends who all have babies now, well one is pregnant now after the injectable. I have experience with clomid...I am actually 13 weeks pregnant right now because of the drug. :) I did have cramping and pressure right around the time I ovulated, but I would take the ovulation tests and they were negative but about a week later I did ovulate, so I bet you anything you will ovulate very soon. Hope this helps and good luck with getting pregnant!! I'm sure it will happen very soon!:)

I too was on Clomid for 2 months. I did experience some cramping around the time I was ovulating. It is weird because I can now tell whenever I am ovulating because of that. I get a bit crampy and my stomach gets a bit upset.

You should talk to your doctor. I was pregnant on fertility drugs and the thing with it is that my body kept producing cysts that were rupturing and it was crampy but then moved onto pain. you may just want to check it out. I ended up with the cysts busting the whole first trimester and then nothing...I had a healthy baby boy.

I too am on Clomid for the 2nd month. I did experience side effects during the first month. Around day 15 of my cycle, I experienced sharp pains in what I believe to be, my ovaries. The pain lasted for about 2 1/2 days then went away. I've gained a few pounds while taking it as well and I suspect that my (blurred) vision has been a little affected by taking this drug. The worst side effect, however; was delaying my period for 3 days- I excitedly took 3 tests only to find I was not indeed pregnant! I have since read, that is not uncommon. Since I am 36 and have never had children, my Dr. only wants me to take this for 2 months before laproscopy surgery. My advice to you would be to talk to your Dr. about these side effects before you do another round. You'll want to make sure you are not growing cysts which is another side effect of Clomid and can affect your chances of becoming pregnant. I also suggest the book, "The Fertility Awareness Method" by Toni Weschler as a means of natural pregnancy achievement and avoidance as well as basic gynecological health.
