Hi everyone, my son is in cub scouts, and next week they are doing a Christmas party. They want all parents to bring side dishes for potluck. So any ideas on side dishes that kids will like as well as adults?

What can I do next?

The BEST cranberry spread!

1 whole bag of fresh cranberries.
1 C. sugar
1 C. Water

Add all of the above in a sauce pan and bring to a boil. Boil until the berries pop. Remove from heat. Add 1 TBLS of lemon juice and stir in 1/2-1 jar of apricot preserves (depending on taste)

Serve over a brick of cream cheese and some sweet flavored crackers( they have yummy almond flavored & such) or ritz or wheat thins.

~This will go SO fast! It has been a HUGE hit. Promise! i also guarantee that at least 1 person will ask for the recipe!

I always make a crockpot mac n cheese......it's always a hit with both, kids and adults. I just made it for my daughters girl scouts and had 6 people ask for the recipe. PM me if you want the recipe.

Potatoes Au Gratin

Caesar salad w/bread rolls

Chili (not too spicy) in a crockpot

Pigs in a blanket

Mac n cheese baked casserole (so it's crunch on top)

Lil' smokies

You can get a good pizza then cut it up into rectangle bite size pieces.

ChiChi's corn cake. Easy and tasty sweet. You buy the mix in the Mexican foods section of the grocery store. You will also need creamed corn and butter.

I've made tons of different things for potlucks. The two that I get asked to make are veggie pizza (crescent roll crust, cream cheese, mayo and dry ranch dip spread and any type of veggie topping), and cheesy potatoes (aka hash brown casserole).

I like to try different things, but those are requested often.

I've also found sweet and sour weenies are both VERY easy to make and a crowd pleaser.

I use allrecipies to find recipies and read the review to find out how to tweak it best.
