I am interested in entering my 1 year old daughter into a baby pageant. I have never done anything like this before. I was just wondering what other moms think of doing this? And what all do I need to do to get started? Like the dress, the other outfits. Please Help Me!!

What can I do next?

I am also a pagent mom. My daughter is 4 years old and she absoulty loves them! Theres a place in Richmond mall called Jack and Jills that sells beautiful dresses. They are very affordable too.. most are around 50 to 100 dollars. The lady who owns the stores also is over Ky festival pagents, so ypu can sign up right then and there. THey are great kid friendly pagents. Everyone wins a trophy and toy no matter what. They cast usually around 150 to enter but you can sell raffle tickets or pages for the program books to cover the costs which is what I always do. You only need two otfits for them... a dress and something store bought for casual wear. I greatly encourage you to do this with your daughter. I enjoy them as much as she does! If you have any questions you'd like to ask me e-mail me at ____@____.com. I'd be happy to help with whatever. You can get on their website at kyfestivalpagents.com for more info. This woman is also over the Natural dolls pagents which are just as fun!

I think they are crazy, who are they benefitting you or your daughter? And at the age of 1 I can't imagine that it is her who is requesting to be in a pageant. My personal belief is that all they are there to do is to exploit children and for moms to think their child is better than someone elses.
Really what will you gain what will she gain, a small monetary reward if she wins?

Be prepared....I have never had an interest in doing this, but I have an old co-worker that has started. She has invested over $5000 in less than 3 months. I can definitely think of better things to spend money on for my daughter. The money put out never comes close to any winnings possible.

i don't think there is anything wrong with entering a baby into a pageant as long as you don't go overbaord with. usually if you hear about one and call it they will tell how, when and , where to register and will give you alist of requirements for it. i'm gonna enter my little one onto a pagenat for our town in october, but just for fun.

My sister did pagents for years. When I had my daughter we talked about it. She said if it was her she would wait till my daughter was 4 or 5 so she could have a better understanding of what was happening so it could be more her decision. She also said a lot depends on the pagent. She has seen some where they putt fake eye lashes and makeup on infants and others where the children have to be natural and every child wins something. They vary widely. I would just check into it to see what the requirments are.

I put my daughter in our county fair pagent when she was a few months old. Just keep in mind that a lot of them are political, it's all about who you are and who you know. The one we were in, no child of unmarried parents won and no minority children won. The judges were all ministers or religious figures and from another county. Everyone got gifts for participating and I'm not going to do it again. She doesn't like getting in dresses. If you do decide to do it, have fun but don't go overboard like so many parents do. It does cost a lot. Just remember, every parent thinks their child is beautiful and you are the best opinion your child needs.
