I would look for some structured activities over day care. Put her in a dance class or gymnastics. Kindermusic is also good. At her age many activities are mommy and me, but not all. The activities are a good way to have structured social time, but you can also see what her interests are and what she will have fun doing.

The Oklahoma City YMCA starts blast ball (tee ball) with 3 year olds. We did it last year and my son LOVED it.

I don't think that putting your child in day care once a week is the best thing to do to get her "ready for school". Have you tried joining a playgroup or something?

If you go to the DHS website or depending on if you live in OKC limits, you can call or go to the rainbowfleet website and both them offer a search engine where you can put in exactly what you are looking for and get a list of places to call. I searched for a home daycare that was 1+ stars for my baby and got a long list to call and found one that way. I also agree though, that one day a week will not get her ready for school, but it will help with her social skills and get you some 'me' time as well.

Whether or not it is a good idea depends on whether the facility is "quality" which refers to the level of training the caregivers have. I have a 12 month old and am currently researching facilities to take him to once he is 2 so he can gain more experience socializing. Social skills are exttremely important. We do play dates but the experience is still limited. Mothers Day Out sounds like what you are looking for, as am I. Some have waiting lists, and can be a year. Most Mothers Day Out programs are offered by churches. Some Pre-Schools begin at 3. Many have web-sites where you can research credibility and the level of training or accredidation. Nationally accredited schools are going to be at the top of training.
