Help, for the second year in a row my daughter will be needing her pants(jeans) heimed up. The few places i have called are about $10.00 a pair and I have 12 pairs to heim up. If any of you Moms have to go through the same thing and know a cheaper place around here please HELP! I live in Wyoming, but any where around here will work. Thanks

What can I do next?

Hi mama,

I am a shortie who has always had to hem my pants. :)
I sew. I live in NE GR and could do them for half that.
Just let me know.

Hi N.,

My daughter & I are also both "fun-sized"! I found a nice place near our home for alterations. It's called Mona's Dry Cleaning & Alterations just off the corner of 36th St & Byron cernter Ave ...she does a great job & jeans are like $8.00/pair!! She does a great job of matching the jeans original stitching color too!! Good luck!!

Try Nguyen Alterations on 28th St. They did my wedding dress for only $40 so I would think pants would be pretty cheap.

I had a pair of suit pants shortened for $8- at a place inside Rivertown Mall. (FYI - they did it in about an hour). They are just inside the covered entrance by the parking ramp (south side of the mall).

Have you looked into alternate sizing? Some stores/brands offer multiple sizing options and adjustable waistbands. If you look for a husky or plus, it might save you from going up a size and adding length.

PS - I'd ask if you could negotiate a lower price to have them all done at once. Every one is looking for business right now, so there is nothing wrong with working a better deal. Maybe a coupon through a dry cleaner? Maybe even a home hobbyist or seamstress as a side project?? Just a thought...
