My dad has several pairs of pants he needs hemmed, and I'm wondering if anyone has a suggestion. Probably a year ago now, I remember stopping by a place in a mall that did alterations and thinking, "I should do that for my dad", and at that time they were charging $8 per pair of pants for hemming. I'm hoping for the same price or cheaper. Thanks in advance!

I took some dress pants to a tailor in the Burnsville Mall - Master Tailor. They did a great job with the hemming. I know that they charge $8.50 for jeans and $10.50 for dress pants.
Call Betty Tate with Alteration Action. She works out of her home and does pick up and delivery. I think she's about $10 per pair of pants to hem, but doesn't charge a p/u or delivery fee. And her turnaround is within a week, if not sooner. Her number is ###-###-#### and she is out of Burnsville.
You can also ask at a dry cleaners near you. Many of them also do alterations.

Her prices are very reasonable and I have used her for hemming, alterations, my wedding dress even!!!, etc.

If you are on the east side of St. Paul this may be a place for you. Tom's Tailors. They are on the corner of Radio Drive and Tamarack Roads in Woodbury. In the very corner of the strip mall. I have taken slacks there. Sorry don't remember the price. I have also had gowns refitted and they do a wonderful job. I remember it being reasonable too.
