I did send the mom a PM, but the suggestion of trying the bathrobe belt tying to help with shoe tying is a WONDERFUL suggestion! We tried it tonight and we have graduated another shoe tier here! If your child is having a hard time, give it a try if you have a bathrobe handy--it works!
Have you tried this with success?

Details: Just have them practice tying their bathrobe belt into a bow. MUCH easier because it's thicker and bigger. My son just turned 8 and has RESISTED even trying to tie laces. Tonight I said --"Hey, know what I heard is really easy for learning to tie bows? Bathrobe belts!" I put his robe on & showed him once & he had the hang if it SO fast! It was exactly the confidence burst he needed.

What can I do next?

Can you give a bit more detail? A bathrobe belt? How is used? Around their waste or a post or something?

I am trying to start this process and have not had any success.

Thanks.

the bathrobe belt is a great idea. I think I would have the kid sit on the couch and put the belt under the legs and have them tie the bow on top of the legs.
My answer is for Cathy T :)

That is an amazing idea. I had never thought about it!! Good for him too!! he should get lots of hi fives for that!! I may try this and see if i cant get my oldest to give 'er another try. We had stopped in momentary frustration!! this may give him a boost!!
