Ok ladies, I desperately need to buy new sheets. It seems they've all gone thread bear at the same time. My sheets were perfectly "broken in"( aka old, lol). So I have been out of the sheet market for what seems like a while. Can any of you recommend your favorite sheets? I love super soft sheets and don't mind investing in good ones but am open to all price points. Please help!

What can I do next?

So What Happened?

Thanks so much for all your input. I will be on the hunt this weekend. I have a Pennys up the road , so I may stop there first. I am intrigued by the microfiber ones too. Will check them out as well. Thanks again!!

100% cotton
higher the thread count the softer.
Wash the sheets before use.

Or, what is also good are the sheets that are "t-shirt" material type cotton.

I just had the same problem. I ended up getting a set at Target they're part of their bleach friendly line. The set I bought was on clearance but the nonclearance sets were reasonable as well. So far so good too. They're 100% cotton sateen so they're silky and have washed well including getting bleached one time.
Just a quick fyi the microfiber sheets are polyester. My husband is always hot and I know he'd have hated them because they won't breathe like cotton.

the higher the thread count the softer - however, too high - over 1000 is more like silk and end of slipping off - at least in MY experience.

I prefer the Ralph Lauren sheets sold at Kohls. they are 600 thread count....

I've heard good things about the Martha Stewart collection at KMart- but haven't purchased any yet!!! We are contemplating a new mattress and not sure if we'll stay with full or go to queen!

Go to smartbargains.com for your sheets. I have bought 1000 and 1200 thread count sheet sets for $79.99 - 109.00. They are super soft and will last many, many years. They also get softer with each wash. I have bought 6 sheet sets from them.

My favorite sheets ever were my Oscar deLarenta sheets. I got them on clearance at Dillard's and we loved, loved, loved them!!! Sadly they wore out too and I can't find the same pattern any more! :( I did buy some t-shirt sheets thinking that they would be super comfy and less warm than the flannel sheets and well, no. They are soft but they even make me warm and I'm always cold! My husband is not a fan of them at all. I would go with a good quality, high thread count. Happy sleeping!

My 19 yr old son really likes Jersey Sheets because they are soft (feels like a nice t-shirt) and they aren't as cold to get into as regular sheets.

Outside of that, a good quality, high thread count should do the trick. You can buy some hotel brands too (like Hilton etc.)

I have bought high thread count sheets from smartbargains.com for the longest. You can also get them at Marshall's or TJ Maxx. A set of 500 TC sheets will run you about $50 at those places and they are awesome.

I also just recently bought my daughter some 400 TC brushes Egyptian cotton sheets from Target. They are actually great as well and seem to be holding up fairly well.

JC Penney sheets get a third vote here!

Also have some sheets we like from the Peacock Alley outlet.

Best sheets ever...even our guests comment on it...are Hotel brand sheets available at Macy's. They are expensive and they feel so good!

JC Penney has AWESOME sheets! I'm a 'bed snob'. They're not super expensive either. I don't know if you have Elder Beerman there in TX, but they're awesome for sheets too.

I get the 400+ thread count, 100% cotton (Egyptian or Sateen). You might be able to find a deal on JCP.com. That site tells you how deep of a mattress they fit and they don't lie!

Sorry to the Previous Poster... But I'm a 'hot sleeper' and cannot handle fleece or flannel. I live in MI and can't deal with em.

I had a set of microfiber from JC Penney and they pilled really bad the first time I washed them. Don't waste your money!!

I happen to like fleece sheets available at Kohls for the winter.
I like all cotton high threadcount sheets for the warm weather. You can get them at Lands End or LLBean or Macys or Kohls... as long as the threadcount is high, they will be wonderful.

Microfiber sheets from JC Pennys! They are soooo smooth and soft and I got my king size for $29.00!! Got a second set on sale for $19.99! They don't go by "thread count" cause they are not cotton. MUCH smoother than cotton and feel " broken in" as soon as you put them on. Try one set and see what you think! I even got them for one of my waterbeds!!

Better Homes (and maybe Garden... not sure if it is just plain Better Homes tho) from Walmart. They are thick yet soft and oh so comfortable. And cheap!

We purchased our sheets at Bed-Bath. What we discovered is that it's not the thread count that's important, it's the type of cotton. I think Oprah got everybody thinking about thread count - now, we're like "big deal". That 800-count is scratchy! I remember it wasn't Egyptian cotton that we liked either. Bed-Bath has little swatches hanging out so you can feel each one. The sheets we like for summer have a little square pattern in the fabric. Our winter sheets are flannel.

I LOVE our Ralph Lauren sheets. We got them at an outlet mall store, and they were pretty pricey, but both my husband and I are VERY picky about bedding (we're strange like that :)). Anyway, we got 2 sets and rotate them. They are super soft, very comfortable, do not pill at all, and fit our deep fit mattress perfectly. They always clean up well, and to top it off, they are simple but stylish! We love them, and will get more if these ever wear out.

I got a set of Court of Versailles (sold at Belk Department stores) for a wedding gift 3 1/2 years ago. I think they are around $70 for a queen set, but they are super soft and LAST. I rotated these with just one other set for the entire time I've had them. They only wear was a small hole in the bottom seam of one of the pillowcases, which I easily stitched up. They also don't pill which I love. I love the feel of Jersey sheets, but have found that they tend to "grow" as the week wears on and don't always stay put.

My FAVORITE sheets are ones I found about 6 months ago. I now have 2 sets of them. They are from West Elm. (They have a location in Dallas but you can get them mail order too). They are around $100 for a set. They occasionally run a 20% off sale.

They have become my favorite because my husband moves around a lot in the bed and can nearly instantly ball up a pair of regular department store sheets. These show no signs of balling at all. So I invested in a second set. LOVE LOVE LOVE them!!

I saw this post while I was shopping. I found drawstring sheets and they are great. There was some mention of sheets popping off. These sheets are held on by the drawstring and not only do they stay on, but the sheets are nice and smooth and although they are only T300 they are the most comfortable sheets I've ever had. Just thought I would check back and spread the word. They need more business so they can bring out colors. Only white now.
