Hi ladies I am 31 weeks pregnant with my second child. I have been having some really sharp pains and pressure on my pelvic area. My doc seems to think it is 2nd baby pains, but I am wanting some more opinions. The pain is really bad after walking a lot or standing. It even comes when I have been lying down awhile I also cramp a lot about every other day, but it is usually in the mornings. I know I didnt have these pains with my first so I am just kinda concerned. I am just worried I might have her too soon. Any advise will help. Thanks

J.

Hi!

You may want to get another opinion (maybe another sonogram/ultrasound or another doctor) to totally ease your mind, but I had way more pain with my second pregnancy (also a girl!). I didn't have any pains (except during labor ha!) with my first (also a boy). The pregnancies were very different. I would think there would be more pain with a first (everything stretching out), but that is not the way it was. The second was a lot more painful.

Hang in there!

I had this throughout the last part of my 2nd pg! The pains would wake me from sleep they were so bad. I just had the baby and have never felt so much relief! All I can figure out is maybe it's girls! HA! No, I think it has to do with their position. I had a boy first too.

It is very normal and does tend to get worse with each pregnancy...at least for me. I am 29 weeks pregnant with my fourth and I have the same pain and it can be very painful. I find that sitiing and rocking back and forth on a yoga ball helps. Good luck!

If your pain is radiating from a particular area every time ..that would worry me. I had placenta abruptio with my 2nd child (Placenta abruptio is separation of the placenta from the site of uterine implantation before delivery of the fetus) which resulted in a c-section. About a month before i was due i started spotting..that was my first clue. They put me on bed rest until he was ready. But my labor was very strange.. it didn't feel normal it felt like a sharp stinging pain on one side..no doubt the side it was tearing from. Tho it wasn't the most pleasant delivery, we did get him in time and now he's 6!
However, if it is just pains here there everywhere.. it could just be your typical body shifting pains. Heaven knows, that pregnancy..especially in your third trimester is SO NOT comfortable!! And lots of undue worry usually assists every pregnancy as well. (we just can't help it! ;) ) If anything, take it easy and try to get as much rest as you can. (hard with a 2 yr old, i know!)
