I have had 3 kids in the last 4 years and we had sex around week 4 or 5 after each. I even had stitches with all 3 but it wasn't a problem. I would wait till 4 weeks at the earliest but after that, go for it.
I know you are suppose to wait 6 weeks to have intercourse after having a baby, but if you had a really easy delivery is it necessary to wait the entire 6 weeks. I know I am a rare person, but after 2 difficult labors this 3rd one was a breeze. The baby weighed in at 6 lbs 12 oz and was 19 in long. I only pushed 3 times before he was totally out and crying and it took about 3 min for the entire delivery. I did not rip, had no stitches and felt great just a few days after giving birth. So is it ok to have sex a few weeks after birth? I really miss the closeness that my husband and I have.

You know -- there's probably a reason for the six weeks wait - so I think this is a question for your doctor.
We made it to the 5 week mark with my previous pregnancies. Not sure about how this one will play out (currently preggo with baby # 3). I think the notion of know we couldn't made it so much more fun when we finally caved in and went for it.
Have fun!!
I believe the 6 week recommendation is more general than not and I know women who don't wait that long. Can't hurt to ask your doc noting what you have just posted here. - It could also be a chance to develop and experience a closeness with your hubby in a different way that can actually be very deep and very fulfilling. Best to you and your new one!!
My doc told me to wait 4 weeks after my first baby and we made it 3 and 1/2. After baby 2, he just said 2 weeks or until I feel back to normal. I also had fast and easy deliveries with no complications, so I think that says a lot about how quickly your body bounces back. You know what feels right and normal for your body better than anyone else or than some medical textbook. Take it slowly when you do.
Wait until you have your check up and GREEN light from your doc. There are many ways to be close to your man and he to you.
Blessings......
I never waited the full 6 weeks and my doctor even told me if I did not to make sure we used protection and had showered before hand. After losing a child at 21 1/2 weeks of pregnancy I needed that closeness with my husband, so three weeks after I had delivered we had sex. I never lied to my doctor about and he told me is was more of a safety guide line. One to make sure you are completely healed and two to make sure you don't get pregnant before your six week check up. I have had four children with all but the one I lost I did wait four weeks but I had stitches with three of them. They were 8 lb+ babies. You know your body and as long as you communicate with your husband to be gentle do what you feel is right. But be honest with the doctor.
My third delivery was a breeze just like yours. We had sex a few weeks after I gave birth and it did not feel good at all and I started bleeding again. I would recommend waiting until you get the clear from you Dr. There are other things you can do for him if you know what I'm saying ;)
We didn't make it to 6 weeks after either of our boys. As soon as I stopped bleeding I wasn't sore and we were in the mood, so we went did it. When I went back for my 6 week check, my dr asked me if we had sex yet, I didn't lie. He just kind of smirked, but didn't really say anything except that "I was the type of patient that kept him in business" hahaha. Because we hadn't used any form of birth control either.
To be totally honest...I didn't wait the WHOLE six weeks..I tried..I really did.
What can I say my hubby is irresistable haha.
Truth is we ended up having sex after bout 4 1/2 - 5wks.
Not saying EVERYONE should go and do that. But My 1st son's delivery was, from 1st contraction to the end, was less than 5 hours. No problems, no drugs, no rips, none of that.
