I am friends with several people on facebook that have facebook stores, they stream their items all day and people push like it they want it. has anyone here done that and is it legal to just start selling only on facebook?
add:
these accounts are people that create facebook pages for just clothing....like "Eddies Closet" or Lillians Boutique, These are the ones i am talking about, i am friends with them only because i want to see their stuff. I guess is what i am asking is has any one had success with this?

What can I do next?

Facebook actually has a store setting for pages, so no, it's not illegal to sell on there, when they are the one's providing the tools to set up a shop.

The only thing that people can't do on facebook is do giveaways, which businesses still do all the time. If they have a blog or something where the giveaway is being hosted, they can announce it on fb, but they can't actually hold the contest there.

I've seen people link their ebay accounts to facebook to give their items more potential buyers....I don't like it and I would not do it...I have an ebay store and I am NOT going to push MY STUFF on YOU via FB...

Alot of people I know such as SAHM run a sucessful business out of their homes making clothing, dresses, bows, etc. I believe it is legal, if not there are lots of illegals on FB! HA! :)

I would HATE if my friends starting pushing their unwanted items off on me, whether real life or facebook.
Isn't that against the rules? Reason for suspension of account?

As long as the business is legit, I am sure it is legal. It's just another source of free advertising. I know some people with these pages that have had some good success. Most of the people I know are NOT too pushy about it. They may mentioned their page occassionally. If you "like it", you get the updates. If you don't, you aren't subjected to it. I do catering and cake decorating. I am legit...I pay taxes to the state and everything. I do not have a page like this. I don't talk endlessly about my cakes or remind people they can call me around the holidays. I do post pictures of my work and I tag those who may have ordered my cakes. Facebook has definitely drummed up more business for me. But I do not think it would have been a successful venture solely using FB. And I think pushy sellers only wind up getting unfriended and blocked. I know I have had to block a few friends because I could not handle the onslaught Mary Kay and Southern LIving sales pitches.

You can block their posts and go look at their stuff when you feel like it. I do this with several of them that post something every 5 minutes...I have things to do people.....

Go to the right side of their post and click on block posts from your news feed. You can always set up these people in a group too.

I have my FarmTown friends on a group list so when I go to the top and click on the down arrow by "Most Recent" I can pick any particular group.

I have my friends that I like to read their posts most on one call friends, then another for just BMX groups and friends, then another for Gardens of Time players.

It makes is easy so I can scroll down and see the posts I want to see and don't have to scroll down through every single person's stuff if I just want to take a few minutes and grab some game bonus'.
