Seeking Travel Destination That Allows Babies

My sister and I celebrate our birthdays together every year. We are looking for a place to drive in Texas at the end of May for a 4 day weekend. It will be me, my husband, our 6 month old and her, her husband, and 15 month old. Does anyone have any ideas of where we should go with little kids? We thought maybe somewhere near water but that also allows children to stay (which knocks out a lot of B&B's).

I love going to Concan, TX. It is along the frio river. We usually rent a cabin at Frio Country. You can google Frio country to look at their cabins. We usually float the river. Now, you would not be able to do that with a 6 month old but at least you could get in the river with the baby. I have been going there every summer since I was a baby. It is very relaxing. If you have any questions you can email me at ____@____.com, if you decide you want to go there book soon they fill up fast.

Enjoy-S.

We stayed at a darling little B&B between New Braunfels and San Marcos at that same time of year a couple years ago when our daughter had just turned a year old. I think it was Memorial Day weekend. Anyway, it's called Stagecoach Stop. There are just a few cabins. We stayed in one that has two rooms and two bathrooms. There's enough floor space in the rooms to set up a pack n play in each one. We just puttered around the parks in the area and spent a little time in the river with our daughter. Breakfast was fantastic, we stocked the mini-fridge with lunch supplies for picnics or eating on the porch outside our room, and ate out for dinner.

When my daughter was about 1 1/2, we took her to the Hyatt Hill Country in San Antonio and had a great time. It's very kid-friendly, there's a nice little shallow pool for the young 'uns, there were kid-friendly movies on the grounds at night and it's just a great place for families.

We took her to SeaWorld as well, which is just across the freeway, but found that it was pretty expensive for the amount of time that we could actually spend there with one that young. She enjoyed it up until naptime, though!

Good luck and have a great time!

Lost Pines in Austin/Bastrop is wonderful. A great place for families. For a long weekend, you will never need to leave the resort. However, it is a bit pricey. http://lostpines.hyatt.com/hyatt/hotels/index.jsp

For a more economical trip, my family is taking an RV trip in May and one of our stops will be near Hot Springs. There is a Forest/Camping area. It should be very flexible for little ones.

Contact me if you need more information.

I recommend T bar M ranch. It is in New Braunsfels. My husband and I took our 2 boys last summer and loved it. It is very family friendly. Check it out.
