Seeking Toddler Program for 2 1/2 Year Old

My daughter is 2 1/2 and I am looking for a toddler program that my daughter can go to once or twice a week for an hour or two. I'm not looking for daycare. I am looking for something for her to go and socialize with other kids and kind of detach her from my hip. I live in the Livonia area and would love to find something. It can be faith-based or not. It can be anything, music, gymnastics, painting, ANYTHING!!! Anyone have any ideas or have sent their child to one? Or a website I can visit to check out programs. Thanks!

What can I do next?

My daughter and I did a mom and me program at the Jackson Center through Livonia Schools. They have a couple different programs although I don't think they have posted their schedule yet.

Ward Preschool has a fun parent/child program. You can find out more information about it at wardchurch.org/wardpreschool. Look under Two Fun on the sidebar. Good luck with your search!

Try Gymboree, a gym program for little ones. Also, see if one of your local city runs programs for small kids - many do. Your library probably has a story time once a week which often includes singing, arts and crafts. Your church or synagogue probably also has a toddler group. Hope this helps - have fun - Alison

Check the closest library. They usually have a storytime program with a craft for little ones. Mom's/Dad's can stay with them in the room, or you can grab a book/magazine/today's newspaper and flop in a comfy chair for an hour or less. It's a good 'filler' program, between gymboree's and such.

My kids joined preschool at that age-2-(which consisted of storytime, learning to play with others, doing activities, learning to eat around others, music and learning through play) my kids are at McKinley Cooperative Preschool in Westland which means total participation from the parent so it is cheapier than a drop off preschool. They have all enjoyed it. I have also heard of Mommie and Me classes in Canton.
