Hi M.- that's so hard! I've had great luck with infant tylenol when the pain is really bad- I've also used these natural teething tablets called Hylands Teething Tablets- they sell them at wal-mart-

other methods- they sell these mesh feeders at Target- you can put fruit, like honeydew or cantlope in it and freeze them and then they can suck on them- although he might still be a little young for that, but my daughter loved them!

hi M.,

what i did when my sons were teething was: take a face cloth, wet half of it with cold water, then stick it in the freezer! - when it's "ice cold" take it out & he can hold the 'non-wet-side" & the ice cold side is perfect for biting on to relieve the pain of teething. Good luck!

Hi M.,

It can be so difficult to be far away from family, so I am happy that you are talking to other mothers!

If your baby has pain from his teeth coming in, you can give him a teething ring - look in the baby products part of Walmart, Target or CVS. There are special teething products you can put in the refrigerator or freezer - sometimes something cold helps with the pain. You can also put a washcloth in some water and then put it in the freezer. When it freezes, put it in the baby's mouth and let him suck on it. Be sure it doesn't go back too far in his mouth - you don't want him to choke on it. But the rough, irregular surface of the washcloth can help his gums feel better.

You can buy something called Baby Orajel to help with the pain - some people say it works and some people don't have very good luck with it.

Let us know if there is anything else we can do that helps.

Good luck!
