I had serious issues with photo quality from snapfish, so recently moved to KodakGallery, but may try some of the others listed.
Greetings! I have been a loyal Shutterfly user for more than four years, however, recently I haven't been happy with their customer service and their platform hasn't been compatible with my operating system...so it may be time to cut the cord. I am looking for the following:
- photo sharing, maybe website
- calendars
- cards and gifts
- maybe videos
- photos copies of course
I don't seem to have the time to research ALL the possibilities out there, so I am hoping you all can give me the "cliff notes" version for busy families:-D

Several of my friends use Shutterfly and Photobucket whereas I just load my to Facebook where my friends and family can see them and we correspond and chat there to. A friend of mine had a mini yearbook made of our group of friends last year for Christmas using Shutterfly and it is awesome. She just sent in pics of events and or times when we were all together throughout the year. I plan to do that for my granddaughters first year.
Hi G.,
I use Snapfish.com. My mom just uploaded picture to it, rather then shutterfly and said it's so much faster. A few things I like better about shutterfly are their "web site" feature. My friend has a family web site set up and it is so cute and I love that. Snapfish has a "group" feature, but I don't know a lot about it. The other thing I like about Shutterfly that Snapfish doesn't have is that you don't have to be a member to view the pictures. However, every person you invite (be sure to send the invite email and have your family and friends sigh up through that email) you get free prints.
Snapfish has a lot of gift ideas, including nice calendars, mugs, t-shirts, etc. You can also chose your favorite photos and that will make creating gifts easier. People can comment on your pictures also.
What I do is upload all my picture to Snapfish (I have been since 1998) and share with my friends and family. Then I look around at Costo, shutterfly, kodak, blurb, etc and find the calendar, cards, book, etc style that I like and then just upload the pictures I like to that site and buy what I like. That way I get a variety of options.
If you have any questions about snapfish, let me know.
One last thing, if you use facebook you can upload your pictures from snapfish to facebook, which makes it easier if you upload to both sites.
Best of luck!

Have you tried Snapfish or Walgreens.com? You can store your photos and order all sorts of cool photo gifts too.
I have tried different sites & I have to say that I have not found the quality of the prints not to be as good as shutterfly. If you care about quality I would stay w/ shutterfly. At least order pictures from the sites you're considering before you make an official switch.
Hi G.,
Like Erika, I have tried other sites but Shutterfly has the best photo printing quality. The price of the pictures used to be high, but even that is reasonable now. I also like that the photo sharing doesn't require an account from those you share with. The Share sites are my fave now, and I love that people can order pics from my share page. You can even load ten movies and add them to your share site. The photo quality is what really keeps me coming back, it's superb.
I've tried Kodak Gallery, winkflash, and snapfish and found them all inferior on photo quality, particularly snapfish, My photos were chopped up and were not all standard sizes. It was just a really bad job and I got the run around to get them reprinted for free, and after they were, the quality was still not great. Winkflash had decent pics but their website was pretty bad and the photo sharing was awful. They may have changed as it's been a while.
Hi G.!
Mobile me is a great application by Apple. You don't have to be an apple user to subscribe, and you can sync with your calendar, email, save documents, and upload video and photos, plus you get a website for your own. If you have apple, iphoto can do all of the other features you're talking about. I love both mobileme and iphoto, because they are so intuitive and easy to use.
Good luck!
Hi G.,
I'm not sure if you're a member or not, but I really like Costco Photo. They have great prices on photo prints and they also have great photo gifts like mugs, calendars, mouse pads, etc. I have ordered mugs and mouse pads before and they are sent right to my home. You can also share your photos with others (I send pics to my family in Texas) and they are able to order whichever pics they want and pick them up at their local Costco store. They don't have a limit on the photos you upload to them, you just have to place photo order at least once a year. The pics you get are much better quality (photo paper and overall look) than other sites, such as Snapfish, etc.
Have fun and enjoy your summer.

I LOVE snapfish.com, its the best!
I like Google's Picasa for sharing pictures. I've seen photobooks from MyPublisher.com and they're really nice, but I haven't made any myself. They have calendars and other things, too. Costco usually has a discount for My Publisher, too.
Good luck,
C.
We use Picasa to share our photos. It's easy and free and you don't need to worry about anyone unauthorized getting in to view your precious little ones.
As for prints, I use Costco. You can't beat their prices and they're ready in a hour locally or you can have them mailed to anyone for a reasonable postage fee. I know they have all sorts of other items - calendars, mugs, etc. I personally haven't done any of those, but the prices are better than Shutterfly.
Hi G.,
I like Google's Picassa for sharing large albums with individual friends or family, but as far as an online platform goes, I use Flickr. I think its one of the easier online photo albums to navigate (honestly I can't stand it when people send me links to Snapfish and photobucket, but that's just me). Flickr is free up to 300 pictures (I think). If you want to upload more photos, its about $25/year for unlimited photos. You can do calendars, mugs, etc and people can also order prints or download your phots directly from the site. You can set user preferences for just family, friends or anyone to see. You can also upload about 90 seconds of video per clip to flickr, but I haven't tried this. HTH!

I love Snapfish! Check it out. Once you order something, they send you great deals for future purchases. It will save your photos as well as any that our friends send you. I have used it for over 3 years now. Good Luck!
Have you tried costco? You can order anything, have it printed, and pick it up in the store. I am not sure how the viewing and sharing works, but my sister does calendars and photos every year.
THanks

Try Kodak Gallery or Costco. I've ordered photo books and reprints of photos. I've received calendars from family members and they've all turned out great.
I know of a christian site. The website is www.DaySpring.com/E-cards
Check out kodakgallery.com. I've been with them for YEARS and LOVE LOVE LOVE them!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I've been pleased with Snapfish after I started using it when I saw it on Oprah last November. I didn't know how to do the things you're talking about and I was surprised at the step by step approach and convenient support. They will help you any way you need, just ask !
