Seeking Speech Therapist or Speech Pathologist

Thank you in advance for reviewing my post!! During our recent parent/teacher conference, my son's teacher recommended that we have him evaluated for a possible speech delay. To give you some background, my son communicates but somtimes his pronounciation is off and we can't understand everything he is saying. The teacher would like to get some feedback from a professional so she can adjust his curriculum. My son is 4 and goes to a Montessori school. Any recommendations for a good Speech Therepist or Speech Pathologist in the Galleria or West Houston area would be greatly appreciated.

What can I do next?

We go to Achieve Speach and Language. They are wonderful and all very knowlegeable. They are on Post Oak Road, Just off I-10. It is a small office and they know everyone by name. When you contact them tell them the exact problem and I know they will see you.
Good luck.

You need to call or go to the elementary school you're zoned for and ask for the paperwork to have your son tested for speech. It may take a little while (especially with the holidays), but the testing and therapy will be free. If you choose to send him to a public school (even if it's not the local one), his records will follow him and his therapy will be undisturbed. Good luck!

My son had speech therapy with Kids Developmental Therapy when he was 3 and 4 years-old. They we great and will come to his school or your home. We used them again when he was 5 for Occupational Therapy and again loved them.

I cannot recommend the Pediatric Therapy Center enough. My son went there and his results were fantastic. They are at 59 and Gessner. Check out their website for more info:

Good luck!

My son has apraxia and he started at PTC - Pediatric Therapy Center off 59 (around Gessner) we recommend Sandra if she is there and also Amy Greebon. Call them they will check your insurance and evaluate etc. Early intervention is key. Also check with your elementary public school. They should be able to eval and he may qualify to be seen once or twice a week.

When my son was 4 he went to PTC once a week and to the school once a week. He was also going to a private school so even though yours is at montessori, he can still be evaluated and possibly seen at your zoned elementary school.

Hope this helps
C.
