Hello! I am interested in findin some free activities for my daughter. She is very active and I just want to take her to some places to use up some that energy while learning and/or socializing her. I was hoping someone could suggest some places in the Essex county or Hudson county areas. Thank you

What can I do next?

Do you belong to any playgroups? They usually are free, or charge VERY minimal fees (like $12 / year) and have playdates at homes, parks, etc. Try looking for one in your area at www.meetup.com

The Montclair Art Museum is free every 1st Friday from 1-5. The Bronx Zoo if free every 1st Wednesday (I think - you should check their website).

IKEA and Jersey Gardens have free play areas for kids.

Oh, Yes! Thanks Beth C! Check the libraries. The Bloomfield one is great. Other libraries (Nutley, and Clifton for sure) have storytimes, and the Barnes & Nobles in Clifton (Rt3) has storytimes too.

Hi -- the Bloomfield Public Library on Broad St. has a wonderful children's room -- tons of books and toys and other children to play with.

Do you belong to a YMCA? It's not very expensive, and they often have wonderful opportunities for mom and baby without any extra fees. I am in Summit, and I take my son there to swim almost every day (family swim) and to kids gym. There are mats and tricycles and other cool things to play on.

Totally worth the monthly fee! And way cheaper than regular classes.
