Charlotte OBGYN on Morehead.
The Midwives (Cathy, Gina & H.) are great. I like Dr. Gourley, Dr. Wicker, Dr. Mackomsome & Dr. Stein.
Can anyone recommend an OB/GYN or midwife practice that is supportive of natural childbirth? I don't actually plan on getting pregnant again for another year, but I need to establish myself with a GYN or midwife in the area. I would rather establish myself with a doctor/midwife that I can stay with when I do get pregnant instead of having to find someone new.

Charlotte OBGYN has 3 midwives in their practice. They work with CMC. They are very good and will support natural child birth. Or support an epidural if you choose to. There is also doctors availiable through the practice if things get complicated.
You are so smart to be thinking ahead like this. I am 36 weeks pregnant with my first children - twin boys. I ended up switching doctors at 32 weeks as it became apparent that my original doctor was not supportive of my desire to attempt a natural birth with twins. I am now at the Bradford Clinic in Mathews and very happy. I spent several weeks searching and asked for recommendations from MamaSource and the Charlotte Moms of Multiples club members. Other practices that I considered were Charlotte OB (who has midwives on staff), Eastover OB and Carmel OB. You may may also want to contact Catawba Nurse Midwives - who I believe have a full OB practice and deliver - they unfortunately don't do multiples, however, so were not an option for me. I am sure you will have an easier time than I did finding a practice supportive of natural birth with a singleton than multiples. Best of luck to you.
Hi B.,
I've been very happy with Providence Women's Care ###-###-#### or www.womenscareprovidence.com ) for over 12 years and 3 pregnancies. They work with Mom and not with a specific agenda so are very open natural childbirth. They have privledges at both CMC and Providence. I have used Dr. Dehoff but have also seen the others and recommend them all.
My sister has used Rankin and was very happy.
Hope this helps and I hope you soon have a very happy and healthy baby.
