About a week ago I started having double vision. I immediately called my Dr. thinking it was preclampsia. After 7 hours at the hospital on monitors this was not the case as my blood pressure is normal. Following this I had another glucose test and failed. They think the double vision it is due to my sugar levels being high. I have monitored my blood for 4 days now and it's within normal ranges. Anyone else had vision issues?
I never had that problem with my pregnancies but I did have it when I was diagnosed with diabetes. What did the doctor say about failing your glucose test? I think I'd look into that a little more.

I experienced this with both of my pregnancy's and any time I am on birth control. Some people are really affected by the hormones in our body when we are preggo and it affects us all differently. I believe your hormones are making you see double. I am not currently on birth control but sometimes when I am feeling extra hormonal (pms) I get blurry vision and feel "off" in my head. So, I dont have any suggestions, but maybe this can help you figure out what it is. I hope it goes away when you have your baby. Congrats too!
First of all, congratulations on the impending birth of your baby boy. I had never needed corrective lenses until I got pregnant with my son. My distance vision started to get blurry. I really noticed it when I was driving. The doctor thought it was hormonal, and my vision would return to normal once I gave birth. It didn't. I ended up getting glasses. Technically, I don't need glasses. I can still see 20/20, but it's a blurry 20/20 (if that makes sense). Anyway, the change is enough to cause me headaches when I'm driving, so I opted to get glasses with a very minor prescription.
It really could be just hormonal for you. I hope that's all it is. Good luck!
I had vision issues with noth pregnancies. Mine was more of blind spots and bright areas as if I has been staring at the sun or something like that. It was so bad I sometimes got stranded places because it was too bad for me to drive! Funny enough my OB suggested it could be LOW blood sugar and told me to be sure to eat more regularly and especially when it starts to happen. That helped a little but didn't stop it. Anyway, he said it did just happen to some women and it was nothing to worry about. It stopped both times as soon as I had the baby. Congrats on your baby!
I had vision changes, blurriness with my last pregnancy with twins and my doctor said it was normal and due to increased intraocullar pressure from the pregnancy... It went away after i delivered. I would just make sure you keep your doc informed, especially call him if it gets worse. good luck.. Im a nurse and had no idea that could even happen. there are other reasons for vision changes to so it wouldnt hurt to rule everything out... God Bless..
I have an eye disorder called exopthalmus. The muscles inside my eyes swell and put pressure on my optic nerve causing double vision in my 3rd trimester. Have you had your tyroid checked? This is the main cause of this eye disorder. It is a blood test and is very simple. You can schedule an appointment with an opthomologist and they can look at your optic nerve to make sure it is okay. If I hadn't mentioned it when I did, I would be blind today. FYI...the treatment was just a round of steriods which were completely harmless to the baby.
I can tell you that I had kind of the same problem. I dont know that I would call it double vision, I told my hubby it was "kaleidoscope eyes". Or like when you go outside and look at the sun and then cant see afterwards. It was really annoying and I would usually just lay down and take a nap (after eating something) so it would go away. I did notice though that it was usually because I needed to eat or that I had too much sugar. It did go away though once I had my son. Good luck!
I had a lot of vision problems at the end of my pregnancy.There was one night I almost went to the hospital because I thought that I was going blind.I had a lot of dimming in my left eye and it felt like I was going completly blind.It was scary.It is amazing the things pregnancy effect.Congrats on the baby.I know the last trimester sucks but hang in the soon it will all be worth it.GOOD LUCK
I have a six week old son and yes I did experience this...actually I would even have semi-blind spells followed by a horrible headaches. My doctor said these were hormone induced migranes. I know that you didn't complain of a headache but it still may be just an increase in hormones. I too had low blood sugar but I also have very low blood pressure so the combination does not mix well. The last few months were tough but my little man was worth it. I would be glad to answer any other questions that I can.
