JDRF is a great resource www.jdrf.org
Our 21 year old was diagnosed at 7 and we struggled with the at school time as well. If you can get your health care provider to help educate the staff it certainly helps. Of course there has to be staff with a cooperative attitude first. I do not have a suggestion for a good school for you. It is hard to educate them on everything they must know. It will never be perfect and you have to realize that they will make mistakes. Hopefully you are in a position that you are able to take a phone call if they need advice on what to do. There are so many kids with different health challenges, the school has to accomodate them. Another of my daughter's has cancer and will start first grade soon, I too am worried about sending her to school. And we have wonderful support at her school. It is very anxiety producing when you can not be there.
Sorry I couldn't help you with a specific school that is good. I am in Belleville and I am sure you do not want to come this far.
