My sister was just at winnie palmer and she had the best experience there. She had her first child at Arnold Palmer and it was a horrible experience. The second, she had no problems whatsoever. Good luck.
My first child was born at the Winter Park hospital and I really liked the private room and all the nurses. However since then my insurance has changed and my new doctor only delivers at Winnie Palmer. Just wanted to know what to expect and if anyone had any good/bad experiances there.

Hi, I have to tell you I delivered about a year ago, so I wasn't at winnie, but my sister in law had a baby a couple of months ago so I went, it is pretty nice, inside an all, and looks very comftrable; about the staff he do a great job, it looks like a hotel for woman like us. Pretty view and alot of space you don't have to worrie about sharing your room or anything like that, and you stay with the baby the whole night if you want, or they can hold it at the nursery, which is a glass room, so you can see inside, its a pretty good place. Congratulations and good luck.
P.S. I believe there's a virtual tour of the hospital, at least arnold palmer had one, try looking for that.
I just had mt son at Winnie Palmer about 4 weeks ago and had a very pleasant experience. So many things were improved from when I had my first son at Arnold Palmer just 2 years ago.
First of all, all the rooms were comfortable. The labor and delivery room was planned out so well -- everything could be done while giving everyone the space they needed and my family never felt that they were in the way. The nursery on my floor was like a fishbowl so everyone could see my baby and were not constricted to one little window. My room had the murphy bed for my husband and a glider for us to rock the baby in, the bathroom was spacious enough for a nurse and I to be in it together to do what we needed to do. There was also an additional sink outside the bathroom so guests can wash their hands even if someone was in the bathroom.
Secondly, the nurses are a lot more accessible now. They each have something like a cordless phone that they carry around with them all the time so you can get a hold of your nurse quickly. Even when they are on their break!! Every one of my nurses were very friendly and accomodating.
Lastly, the one service that I did not expect but got was that they had someone come every few hours, even in the middle of the night, to change my water. They made sure that I had fresh ice water and never got dehydrated.
Thumbs up from me for the great service at Winnie Palmer!!
do you mean arnold palmer if so i delivered there and had a csection i will be honest i didnt have a good experience the nurses were not caring i was in pain and they didnt help me. FOR THREE DAYS AFTER DELIVERY NO ONE WOULD HELP ME BATHE AND ALL WOMEN KNOW AFTER CSECTION YOU CANT MOVE AND ARE IN HORRIBLE PAIN. IF YOU DO DELIVER THERE I WISH YOU THE BEST OF LUCK. SOME PEOPLE HAVE GREAT EXPERIENCES AND SOME DONT I KNOW A FEW GOOD AND BAD. GOOD LUCK H.
I have not been there but have heard bad things from a few different people - mainly that it is NOT what they are making it out to be. I would not go there... then again, I wouldn't go to any hospital! LOL
Hi M.: If you are refering to Winnie Palmer, this is consider one of the toppest hospital for mother and children. I haven'nt hear nothing negative about it. I recommend that you go personally request a tour to give you some inside that will give you a better view and more security. God bless you and the child to come. P.
I work At arnold Palmer Hospital, My second daughter was born shortly before Winnie was open so I haven't delivered there yet. But It is a beautiful hospital, It looks like a hotel. I have only heard wonderful things from mothers who have delivered there. I assure you that you will like this hopital better. Every room is a private BIG room, with murphy beds, The works!
Hi M. - I delivered my son at Winnie Palmer in June, right after they opened. Since he is my first, I didn't have a prior birthing experience at any other hospital, but I will tell you that my husband and I were very impressed with the quality of the facility and especially the nursing staff. My nurses were especially helpful in teaching me how to breastfeed - just ask and they will be happy to caoch you through it!
Since it had just opened, there were a few minor "hiccups" w/ my registration info, but besides that, everything was very smooth, which is pretty incredible given the size of the facility. It is nationally renowned and women travel from all over Florida to have the chance to deliver there. The rooms are spacious, have huge windows that can let in a lot of natural light and have Murphy beds so someone can stay w/ you in the room to help out! Also, you can have your baby room in with you as much as you want - on the flip side, they will also keep him/her in the nursery if you want so you can get some much needed rest.
