Y.,

I am in the same boat, trying to find things to do with my 1-year-old. He loves to be outside, but I want to take him to do things that will be somewhat stimulating to me too. A few suggestions I have heard from friends and family:
The Disney Marketplace. It's next to Dowtntown Disney, near Pleasure Island and all that stuff. It's free to walk around just to browse the stores and there's a little carousel. Although I don't know if that's free.
Lake Eola, downtown Orlando, has a huge playground. There are also lots of grassy places where kids can romp around. Children love to feed the ducks and swans.
Blanchard Park in East Orlando is nice. There's a walking/biking trail and a playground.

I still haven't taken my son to any of these places. I work too much! I hope you can get out there.

Have fun.

Honestly, what I can say from experience is, children at that age like to experience a taste of life, whether it is laughing, crying or even learn believe or not, but the best thing for a parent to do is to take them to see and touch different things. At that age, I took my son to the playground, not only was it inexpensive, well, I didn't spend a dime, there are many kids around them and children get excited with one another. You can also take her to places like Chucke Cheese, which is free to get into or another recreational facility in your area. I hope you can find this helpful, if not, I am sure there are lots of mommies out there who can help you out...Best of Luck, V...
