Hi Mothers and Sisters!
I am about to leave for AZ with my mother, sister, sister-in law, and aunt for a once in a lifetime, 3 day resort vacation. One beauty of this trip is that it is just the women in our family going; no children and no husbands. As you can imagine, this has never happened before nor will it likely happen again. I don't want to plan too many activities as we will be going there to relax and just "be" in each other's company. However, I am wondering if anyone has any creative ideas for fun or deepening conversation starters, women-getting together rituals, or any ways to enhance or preserve these very special three days. My mother is 70, and my aunt is 68. Thank you for your suggestions-I appreciate you all and this incredible gift that I am about to enjoy.

I agree with the other Moms to just ask them about their past, but another great ice breaker for getting conversations going is a game called Scruples. It really gets people talking. http://www.scruplesgame.com/main.html Check out the link for an explanation. Have fun, it sounds like a great trip.
You do need to just enjoy each other's company - after you have a spa treatment or two you will all be very relaxed. I would ask you mom and aunt to talk about when they were younger. Ask them how they met there husbands, what there weddings were like, etc. Treat them like your girlfriends and they will open up!
Enjoy
That sounds great!! I would just ask them a lot of questions about their childhood and younger years, because they won't be around forever! They love talking about it and it's fun to hear about. And take lots of pictures!
