Try the Good-Will, Salvation Army, and resell shops for the frames, Just frames aren't very expensive, then she can watch sales for new box springs and mattreces.
Hello. I found so much helpful advice on this site I wanted to use it to help my sister. She is a single, divorced mother raising her 3 small children on her own. She has a 8 year old daughter, 7 year old autistic son, and 5 year old son. The brothers share a bed but the littlest one no longer wants to share a bed with his brother. Where can we go to find a good condition twin bed frame and/or box spring? We have a twin mattress. We do not have a lot of money. My sister just got laid off and I am doing what I can to help. We live near Memorial City Mall area.
I should mention that all 3 kids share a bunk bed now with the bottom being a little wider to accommodate the 2 brothers. They live in A. apt so whatever bed we get has to fit in their 2 bedroom apt.
A wonderful family gave my sister their child's old twin bed frame. They didn't want any money and were just "paying it forward". This is the same philosophy my sister lives by when she's doing charity work. My little nephew loves his new bed. Thank you so much!!

A great resource is www.freecycle.org. People who are getting rid of things post their items for free on this website, and she can post that she is looking for a box spring and frame. If she doesn't mind used, this would be free for her. This is how we got the frame and box spring for my son's bed, and we bought the mattress new. Anything else she needs she could probably find on there. They sort it by area, so either you or she can sign up for the one in your area to see what is available. Hope that helps!
Check out Craigs ____@____.com - I have bought furniture that looks like NEW for $350...livingroom set. Also, my brother has almost furnished his entire home this way. Also, you can try some resale shops. Good luck to your sister and her babies!

CRAIGS LIST! great for stuff like that.
Would a bunk bed be A. option???
Look at www.craigslist.com go to TX - Houston - Free stuff. I could not beleive the things people are giving away I looked at it last night. There is lots of furniture, appliances and toys. I did see a daybed someone had on the site from Kingwood. They let you know the area Porter, Humble and Cleveland and most let you know the last day they will hold the item. You have to be willing to pick the items up (and never go alone) Things are posted daily.dt
any of those discount mattress places (or a furniture store) should be able to sell you a frame pretty cheap. I cannot imagine they cost more than 20 bucks. You may want to call around second hand shops and you can post on craiglist.com or freecycle (yahoo group). Wish I had one to offer you. You are a great sister.
Big Lots or Walmart. If you don't mind used, try www.craigslist.com

a reasonable and good quality NEW mattress and box springs can be purchased at Sams Club.
Otherwise, for just a box spring, check on Craigs List at www.craigslist.com for a used one.
I look on Craig's list. It takes some time but you can find some great deals.
Good luck to your sister and you. BTW you are a wonderful sister for helping her out.
