My husband and I have been going through rough times. We have 2 small children and I am a stay at home mom. He works constantly and we are now having lots of trouble working out even the smallest issues, let alone the big ones. We really need some help. I fear if we don't go and see someone we will not be able to work through this. We have been to see seperate therapists. They wanted us to come like 10 or 15 times a piece then we could be seen together. At $150.00 a visit that is unrealistic for us, and not really what we want. I think we need to be seen together with someone who can help us work out our issues.

What can I do next?

I would encourage you to seek a church that offers the Dynamic Marriage course.....I have heard wonderful things about this course and it is much cheaper than seeing a therapist. Also, a book called "A New Earth" by Ekhart Tolle addresses problems with the ego which will help in all aspects of life. Best of luck to you and your family. God Bless!

Hi, P.. Another option in the Broadripple area (across from Glendale mall, 6100 N. Keystone) is Helios Associates. There are three people there, all of whom do individual and marital therapy. If you want a female, Jackie Morice is great (I saw her myself and so did several people I know). The number is ###-###-####. If you want a male marital therapist, I've heard from my good friend that Ron Barnard is wonderful. His number is ###-###-####. The best thing is that all of them are on most insurance plans so it's $15 a session and not $150. Let me know if you want any more info.

A friend of mine is a counselor, I can see if she's taking patients right now (she had a baby a couple months ago). Let me know if you'd like me to find out.
Does your husband have insurance? Many times it will cover solo sessions and then all you have to pay for is the ones together, or the counselor can bill insurance as if he's there alone.
What about clergy? Do you go to a church? They typically do it for free or a small fee.
Good Luck:)

You may want to check out some counseling services offered through College Park Church (www.yourchurch.com). I believe most of their counseling services are free, and their counselors are trained and certified. If they can't help you directly, they should be able to recommend some affordable alternatives.
