Seeking Good Christian Church

I'm looking for a good diverse christian church with a good reputation and great fellowship. I grew up attending catholic church, and as I got older I realized that the christian church is a place that makes me feel comfortable because of the fellowship that I truly need. Problem is, I attend a christian church when I visit my grandmother who lives out of state. This matter is so important to me because my boyfreind and I would like to get married and raise our first daughter who is eight months old in a church we can grow with. Diversity is important because my daughter is biracial. I am hispanic and her father is black/a fourth white. I am not from the the DFW area so that makes things a little more difficult. Thank you in advance for your suggestions!!!

What can I do next?

Hi. I go to a wonderful church in North Richland Hills named Wellspring Church. All races are welcome. We have good fellowship, good children's program, awesome preaching and worship.

We'd love to have you! We're at Smithfield Rd and Starnes in NRH.

Hello,

Since you are looking for a good Christian church, I would like to invite you to High Point Church in Arlington. The senior pastor is Gary Simons, who is married to April Simons; daughter of the legendary John Olsteen. My fiance and I have been attending this church regularly for a few months now and are in the middle of completing the membership course. Let me tell you, we are in an interracial relationship (he's hispanic and I'm black), and we too have a daughter. We have felt so welcome since the first time we visited the church. It is VERY VERY diverse! There is not just one pastor who leads the people, there are many pastors there, and they are of all different ethnicities. The congregation consists of every ethnicity you can see in the mall! Speaking of the mall, April is all about women and empowering them to be strong women of God. She helps put together so many different events for women only throughout the year. We just had a chik night which was full of fashion, entertainment, and filling of the spirit. There is a spa day coming up so that you can be pampered in the Lord's name. They have a great kids program which caters to children of all ages depending on your needs, they even have a regular prep school and child care if that would be something you're interested in. Now if you've seen any part of the media lately you will have seen High Point in the news regarding many social issues. High Point is a Bible believing church who is by God's design. We don't take any part of the Bible and twist it to cater to the ways of the world as it is today, we believe in the Lord's Word, and we believe in being a stand up church in a bow down world. My fiance and I had both been saved before we came to this church, (he came from a Catholic upbringing and myself Baptist)but we have learned so many things and are continuing to learn so many things that will allow us to become LEADERS for the Lord. Because that is what the church needs to be full of. Listen High Point is in Arlington as I said before, and the website is www.highpointchurch.com, I strongly recommend you check out the website and just come visit with your family. You will be guided along the way and they will make you feel just as comfortble and welcome as they made me and my family. God Bless you on your search.

I love Irving Bible Church. It is in north irving/grapevine. the church is huge, so you wont be noticed unless you want to be. i liked that when i was "church hunting" there are great classes and groups to join and the childrens programs are wonderful. because of the location, most of the people are white, but there is no judging at all. everyone i have met there is wonderful and caring. i grew up in small souther baptist churches where gossip was worse than high school. at IBC there is no judging and tons of classes for all different needs.

Hi C.,

My family started attending church services at Bear Valley Community Church in Colleyville several months ago and are very happy with our experience there. It's definitely not a traditional church by any stretch of the imagination and one of their missions is to bring church to people who normally wouldn't go. It's very laid back and casual but there is love coming at you from every direction if you just get involved. My kids absolutely adore the place, which is the main reason my husband, mother and I decided to start attending ourselves.

My 8 year old daughter attended a VBS there and she loved it. Then she went on Sunday a couple of times with my best friend, who recently became a member there, and loved it then too. I figure if you can get a child to love to go to church, who am I to keep them from that. Church was a chore for me when I was a child so I think Bear Valley is definitely doing something right! My 2 year old loves it there as well.

It's been a little strange getting used to going to church in casual attire (jeans, shorts, etc.) and singing with an entire band instead of an organ and a piano, but it's been really great. I'm looking forward to getting even more involved in the individual bible studies and worship groups they offer. I joined the Mother/Daughter Project group last month and I think that's going to be great. We're going to take the next Bear Valley 101 class the next time it comes up as well.

If you're interested, Bear Valley is off of Precinct Line Road about midway between Highway 26 and where it dead ends into Davis Boulevard. There are two Sunday church services, one at 9:45 a.m. and one at 11:15 a.m. There is a nursery for babies I believe, but if you want to call to be sure, please send me a PM and I can get you the correct number and person to speak to as well.

Regardless of whether you go to Bear Valley or not, I hope you find a good church to attend. I feel so much more fulfilled now that we've started going back to church after all these years. It does make a tremendous difference in your life when you find a place you feel like you really belong.

Good luck and God bless!

Cross Timbers Church is AMAZING! We now have 3 campuses. The main campus is in Argyle with satellite campuses in Keller and Denton. It doesn't get any better than Pastor Toby Slough! He has a heart bigger than Texas and what you see is what you get...no phony stuff - he is the real deal!

We offer The Healing Place for people suffering from addictions and past hurts and hang-ups....as well as Celebrate Recovery classes which deal with the same types of issues in a small group setting like abortion, death, etc. Everyday life. We have a biker's ministry for those who love their Harley's!

If nothing else, please check out one of Toby's messages online. www.crosstimberschurch.org. I know you will be incredibly blessed. T.

looks like you have some great churches to check out! I thought I would add one more to the list; Fellowship of Joy. We are located in Grand Prairie. My hubby & I started going there in January of 06 and have loved it! It's not a huge church but it's not extremely tiny either. We usually have between 250 - 400 people at Sunday service (less on Wednesday evenings). A lot of our group are college students from CFNI. We would love to have you visit! Our pastor preaches verse by verse and we have learned so much from him. If you want more info or have questions just let me know. The website is: fellowshipofjoy.com
Take care!
