Welcome to the area! There are some great ways to meet other Moms in our neck of the woods. One way that I have found helpful is joining a MOPS group (Mothers of Preschoolers). You could go on their website and find a group that meets near you http://www.mops.org/

There is another online group that is local to our area called 24/7 Moms and you can find them at 247moms.com. It is a great way to find out information and there is a blog where you can "talk" with other Moms.

I have also found the YMCA to be a good place to meet people as well through my kids swimming lessons etc. Gig Harbor has a greta new Y and it isn't too far from you.

Hope these ideas are helpful and not ones you have thought of already.

I don't know where you live but MOPS is a great way to connect with other moms. check out mops.org for a group near you.
It is hard to find a babysitter you trust. We haven't done well in that category either. But keep trying, even swapping child care with someone else gets you a little bit of time.

I was in the same situation as you. We had moved here a little over 3 years ago and had a hard time finding couples our age, especially with children. I found a mom's meetup group through this website: www.meetup.com and we our group has lots of moms with babies. There are all types of meetups, from moms with babies, to nightlife, to crafts...you name it! Hope this helps!
