I don't have a ped. in the Fox Valley area to recommend (we kept ours in Westchester after moving way out here...Yorkville), but we did delayed vaccinations by virtue of not scheduling them until we felt there had been enough time in between AND we only allowed one shot per visit.
Can't your current doc. order the single dose shots for you?
We were pushed at times to move up their schedule, or do a combination in a visit, but as long as they're all done before public school, there's no rush. You can also avoid the chicken pox vac. on religious grounds because it contains animal embryonic cells. Since starting the chicken pox vac., teens and young adults have started getting shingles. It's usually something seen in late aged adults due to a weakening in their defense system, but now everyone is getting injected with the virus and is thus susceptible to Shingles, and now they're trying to come up with a vac for shingles.....it will never stop.
I know some people are adamant about getting the vac because they had really bad chicken pox as a child and have scars from it - so it's good that it is available. I'm just letting you know that it isn't absolutely mandatory and there are known issues with it.
