Just moved here and need to find a female pediatrician who is sensitive to children with food allergies. Help. I live in the Woodstock area but am willing to drive to find a good doctor.
I HIGHLY recommend Northside Pediatrics in Towne Lake. They have 10 (maybe 11 now) doctors with at least half being female. We see Dr.Amy Harkin most of the time and LOVE her! We usually see Dr. Heaven or Dr Reznik they are very good with children, very loving. The thing that I love is that they LISTEN to you. I had a doctor that gave me problems when I took my son off cow's milk due to multiple ear infects, these docs said that as long as he is getting enough animal fat and calcium, he would be fine! They gave me ideas and he has never had another ear infection. I also had a doc at different practice give my daughter the MMR at 5 months!!! I wanted it deferred until she was 2 yrs old since I am a stay at home mom and they gave it to her at 5 mos. That is the one that is linked with Autism if given too early. I was horrified and Dr. Heaven had to do a complete blood work up on my 7 month old and found that the other practice had just given her whatever they had in the cooler. She is 5 now and just now sorted out. But every other doc that I called didn't want to bother with me or my children. I ask alot of questions and it doesn't phase them at all. The staff is great as well.

My daughter sees Dr. Lucas in Roswell. Love her. The name of the practice is Lucas Pediatrics, ###-###-####. It seems some people love her and some don't like her. I think the thing I like about her is the same thing that people are pointing to when they say they don't: she is your kids' doctor and advocate not your best friend. So, if you need to change something you're doing, she'll tell you. I LOVE that about her!!! Very professional and I have no doubt that she cares about my daughter and wants what is best for her. And we LOVE Nurse Emily!!!

I used to go to Pediatric and Adolescent Medicine in Woodstock but was not happy with them. I switched to Northside Pediatrics and love it. It is much more busy but the doctors are also much more attentive and have a WAY better bedside manner with both me and the kids. We have seen Dr. Hill the most and she is great. Takes as much time with you as you need, doesn't make you feel rushed out the door. Also wanted to mention that if you're looking for a ped. dentist, Cherokee Children's Dentistry in Canton is awesome. At first we went to Childrens Dentistry of Woodstock and the place is ridiculously booked and your herded through like cattle... terrible place.

there are 2 around here that i know. one is dr heaven on 92 in woodstock. the other is on towne lake pky at northside pediatrics which is a much more busier place sometimes. if u ever need ent with the allergy issue debroah burton is who u need to see. she is great. my son has allergies and she has has to do a few surgeries for sinus's for him. i am a nurse but go outside of my comfort zone to her cause she is great.
