Seeking Cosmetic Consultation

I would like to see if other moms in the area (Dublin/Powell) have a recommendation for somewhere that provides makeup consultation and products. I am a 31 yo legal professional and have simply been satisfied with picking up random cosmetics at the drug store - but I would like to now invest in some nicer makeup and learn how to use the products correctly. I have heard nice things about "mineral makeup" and wondered if other moms had comments about these products too. Your assistance is much appreciated.

What can I do next?

:) AND if you are a bargain hunter you can find pretty decent makeup on the web that is pure minerals and comes in kits and has NO bismuth oxychloride or any other hidden ingredients.

I use mineral makeup from www.smokymountainminerals.com (I'm pretty sure it's spelled smoky and not smokey..)

I like it, it's easy, free shipping and way cheap especially if you sign up for their emails they have great sale codes to type in. :)
(no I dont sell for anyone - just sharing my bargains)

for eye shadow i use www.simplynaturals.net ( or org i forget). they are super cute - takes a while to figure out the colors but it's soooo cheap seriously and PURE minerals and they list ingredients etc).

Why i use minerals - I have never been 'good' at applying makeup. BUT MINERAL MAKEUP i can DO! :)

Definitely go to Sephora (Polaris Mall or J.C. Penny's). They have the minerals along with tons of other brands and you can try everything on! I love that store!

Dear C.,

I have a suggestion. I worked as a make-up artist and retail Cosmetic Sales Associate for many years in Columbus. I still do the odd make over for friends or client my husband is working with (he's a musician, and has played countless weddings, birthday parties, etc.). I'm currently out of work, so this would be a nice opportunity to put my skills to use. Maybe we could discuss a fee for my services. I know I could end up saving you money, because I can help you find which drug store products are best for you, and which products you should buy from the prestige, Department store lines.

BTW ~ I have used mineral make-up, and I love it, so it would be easy to incorporate it into your regime.

I would be glad to help you shop for what works for you, and show you how to apply it for the most flattering, professional look, and for long wear. The up side of using my services is that I'm not on commission, so I have nothing to gain by steering you to one product over another.

If you're up for this kind of approach, let me know through e-mail, and maybe we can set a time to get together. What fun! A slumber party without dipping each other's hands in cold or warm water! LOL.
