Looking for a counselor who works with young children to help them deal with transitions, family changes, anger issues, etc. N or NW suburbs. Can anyone recommend a good one? The last one we tried was stuck on enforcing her "program" and didn't take time with my son, so I am hesitant to keep dragging him around to different ones til we find a good one. Any recommendations appreciated!
12/15 Update! Thank you so much for the recommendations! All look good and I will call. I did get a list of some covered by my insurance, but the ones I can find info on don't seem child-focused. I'll pay more for a better counselor for my son if necessary, of course, but if anyone knows anything about these insurance-covered (ASP Advocate Lutheran Gen'l) ones please let me know:
Abby Watel, Mary Kay Pribyl, Ann Barnes, Sylvia Klatt, Bonnie Whyte, Ariel Eselevsky. Thank you so much.

Not sure where you are located, but Alexian Brothers Hospital in Elk Grove has a Behavioral Health Hospital where they have counselors and Dr.'s that work specifically with juvenilles. The number to the main hospital is ###-###-####. They can better direct in the right direction.
Good luck!!
Hi,
My name is R. Katz. I am a clinical psychologist. (http://www.richardkatz.org) check out my credentials etc.
THEN,if you think that I am credible, call Victoria Lavigne, Ph.D., ###-###-####. She is fabulous. At least I think so.
But check her out. Talk to her. Tell her your situation.
She specializes in young kids.
Good luck!

Kenneth Young Center on Rhowling Road in Elk Grove Village is a really good place. I utilized their adult program for a while when I was having some issues and the counselor they assigned me to,Larry Shoemake, was wonderful. In fact he was amazing. I've heard good things about their children's program too.
