Seeking Child Friendly Place for Haircuts in Baltimore Area

My 4 year old daughter has always hated having her hair cut. Even the sight of a hair dryer is enough to flip her out. Her hair grows slow so we luckily don't have to have it cut very often. It is now starting to look kind of scruffy and I want to trim it up before school starts. She has been fretting this potential hair cut for the past week. I don't have the skills to tackle it myself. Does anyone have any suggestions for any kid friendly salons or barbers in the Baltimore area?

What can I do next?

I take my 4yo and 2yo to Cartoon Cuts in the White Marsh mall. It's a wonderful environment to distract your child, while getting a quick, great looking hair cut. They have a TV at each seat, so your child can choose which show she would like to watch. They will also hand your child a bucket of toys to play with, and have lollipops, balloons, etc. These ladies deal with little ones all day long, and are very good...I've never had a bad experience.
Good Luck!

Try cartoon cuts. Just for kids. With elephant trunk hair washing station and each hair cutting station with a tv/vcr to play your kids favorite cartoon. And stylists used to the struggle with young children. They are very patient. Walk -ins and appointments accepted. There is one in whitemarsh mall we used to go to, Im sure there are other locations. Otherwise call a salon your interested in and ask , most generic places have someone the specializes in children.

Ultimate Image in Hampstead does a great job. Ask for Cathy Bohn. Hampstead is about 25 minutes north of Baltimore (695 to 795). I took my son there for his first haircut at 18 months. She was done in 5 minutes. Their phone number is ###-###-####. Good luck.

Hi Christy!

I've taken my 14 mo. old son to Planet Kids in Bel Air and Cartoon Cuts in White Marsh. Both were pretty good. He was able to sit on my lap and watch cartoons which was a nice treat for him. I wouldn't expect anything fancy, but they do a good job with basic cuts and are very fast. Cartoon Cuts have locations other than White Marsh...check out their website for more locations. www.cartooncuts.com

Good luck!

We've been to Cartoon Cuts in the White Marsh Mall a couple of times and have had luck there. My daughter (almost 3) doesn't like the "spray" so they don't shampoo. They just use a spray bottle to wet her hair. If you don't want the hairdryer, they won't use it. Also, they play kid movies and have little TV screens at every station to keep the kids busy. Check their website first (I think it's www.cartooncuts.com) because sometimes they have coupons. Good luck!
